Three words sum up Asbury Park resident Brett Colby: Actor, Singer, & Director. This Armenian-American character tenor has received acclaim throughout the US and Europe for his strong comedic and vocal skills. Brett has been singing professionally for over 10 years, performing as far north as Alaska and as far east as Poland. So how did this talented man manage to become so skilled, not to mention conversational in both French and German? We’ll definitely find that out and more. This past April, Brett played Professor Harold Hill in the Algonquin Arts Theatre’s production of The Music Man. He also performed at the recent 5th Anniversary Gala for ReVision Theatre, and he’ll play Charlemagne in ReVision’s upcoming production of Pippin. I can’t even imagine what else he has in the works. Though Brett has acted and sung all over the US and in Europe, we’re fortunate he still finds time for various local performances. Not only is Brett a performing artist, he is a major supporter of the arts in general, having served as President of the Arts Coalition of Asbury Park from 2007-2009 and as Director of Development for Algonquin Arts Theatre in Manasquan until March 2011. He currently works as Development Associate for The Arc of Monmouth. After the interview, please check out After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for additional information.
