Airlines thinking of charging by how much you weigh
by CREDIT TALK USA in Finance
Tags: credit talk show airlines debit cards otep entertainment
S amoa Air has become the first airline to charge passengers according to how much they weigh. The company carries travelers on hops between Pacific islands that have some of the highest obesity rates in the world. Instead of charging for each seat, Samoa Air has started weighing passengers along with their luggage, and charging them a fee reflecting the total, depending on the length of the flight. Fees range from about $1 to $4 per kilo (2.2 pounds), meaning passengers pay a little under $50 to $200 per 100 lbs. "This is the fairest way of traveling," Samoa Air CEO Chris Langton says. "There are no extra fees in terms of excess baggage or anything.

The defending world champion Miami Heat are in a must-win situation facing elimination led by LeBron 'King' James tonight in their game 6 matchup versus the Spurs of San Antonio. Returning to South Beach at American Airlines Arena has been kind to the Big 3 from the coast as the team looks forward to the challenge via the other Big 3 dressed in Black & Silver as they try to avoid the disappointment of failing to win the title, size fingers for rings, hang banners and raise the Larry O'Brien trophy facing the ending of the NBA season as we know it and extending the series to 7 games also in Miami. Who are the X-factors for each team? Who will win tonight's game and why? These questions answered tonight on Tate's Take!!!

Southwest Airlines: Operating for People and Planet

Outreach Communication, Southwest Airlines
Note from Mrs. Green: It is a RARE occurrence for us to do a repeat show. But alas! We bring you our most popular show of 2013 – a great reminder of allSouthwest Airlines does for the planet and how much they helped with getting the Ben’s Bells Project to Newtown, Connecticut only three short months ago. Read all about it.
Not only does SWA (and trust me, I fly SWA) not charge you for your bags AND still give you peanuts and pretzels AND frequently entertain you during your flight, they are going greener every day in every way they can. I am nuts about them. “Our performance, our people, our planet.” Don’t you want to know what this industry leader is doing to be a good steward of the planet?
Thanks to Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona for sponsoring this show.

I am typing this from a Southwest airlines flight. I paid $8 to get wifi and let you know that I most likely won't be landing in time to host the show. If I do land in time, I will say a brief hello and an update on the happenings in North Carolina. Our latest video can be seen here:
http://www.storyofamerica.org/funk_arrest
If we do land in time, it will be a short show this week. But feel free to call in if you've got something to get off your chest.
Presented by Coffee Party USA, "The Middle Ground" covers a variety of topics with a trans-partisan approach with an eye to finding the place where the two major political parties share that 'middle ground.' Co-hosted by award-winning filmmaker Eric Byler (center-left perspective) and political author Michael Charney (center-right perspective), the show airs every Tuesday 8 to 9:30 pm ET.
We love our callers: 646-929-2495.

2013 NBA Finals Game 2 Recap

Tags: 2013 NBA Finals Game 2 Recap LBJ Wade Bosh TD Manu TP Chalmers Ray Allen keys to victory Bench Production
Back in Business: Miami turns up the Heat and evens the score (to say the least) defeating the visiting San Antonio Spurs 103-84 @ American Airlines Arena in Game 2 of the 2013 NBA Finals. Leading the defending world champions in points was not the best player on the planet LeBron James, it wasn't 2x champ and this year's recipient of the Humanitarian Award Dwyane Wade, nor was it 8x league All-Star Chris Bosh ( many considered to be the less heralded member of South Beach's Big 3), but instead it was Mario Chalmers pouring in 19 points in part to a rout on Sunday night. What was the biggest difference in the win? What adjustments did Miami make in their key to victory to stand victorious as opposed to Game 1's disappointing loss? What should we now expect from both teams going into San Antonio for games 3, 4, and 5? These questions answered tonight on Tate's Take!!!
