Dr. M. Starita Boyce Ansari is a scholar in the field of philanthropy. She has been recognized byFord Foundation and W. K. Kellogg Foundation for her research in philanthropy. Dr. Boyce Ansari is a trainer and presenter in the areas of philanthropy, strategic planning, fund development, and program design and evaluation. She is also working to empower the next generation of philanthropist.
Over the past 15 years, Dr. Boyce Ansari has led a range of institutions through periods of growth and revitalization, culminating in organizational advancement, innovative programming and financial stability. One of Starita’s most noted achievements is the creation of a national literacy program for the American Bible Society. This work continues to be a leading national program at the American Bible Society.
As Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Cheyney University, Dr. Boyce Ansari raised $41.2 million in capital support. Her success paved the way for Cheyney to build a new science center and residential hall, attract prestigious faculty and a more competitive student body, and increase lasting relationships with individuals, corporations and government.
Dr. Boyce Ansari’s dedication and commitment to providing equal access to health care, education and economic opportunity has improved the lives of many. She has served as an advisor to an NGO in Liberia and advised Chinese and Latino philanthropists on international philanthropy. Dr. Boyce Ansari is President and Chief Change Officer at MSBphilanthropy Advisors, LLC.
Born in Trinidad and raised in Queens, New York, Cheryl Boyce Taylor is the author of three collections of poetry, Raw Air, Night When Moon Follows, and Convincing the Body. Her poetry can be seen in Diane Samuel's Lines of Sight in a permanent exhibit at Brown University. A graduate of Stonecoast MFA Poetry Program, Cheryl's poetry has been widely published in literary journals such as; Caribbean Erotica, The Well & Often Reader, So Much Things To Say:100 Calabash Poets, The Mom Egg, and Aloud:Voices from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. Cheryl is working on a memoir and a new collection of poetry. Cheryl is the host and curator of the Glitter Pomegranate Performance Series.

TJ Boyce, from Houston, Texas, always wanted to pursue music. The son of a pastor and a former professional runway model, he studied the historical southern sound rooted in old slavery. T Boyce expands, “coming from ‘the south,’ I have been heavily influenced by some of the most profound musicians and musical talents in the world.”
Boyce expresses, “I always wanted to be an entertainer, and it is where I am most comfortable.”

Racism seems to be so ingrained in American culture, it's as if it's being taught. Attitudes of disrespect and disdain toward African Americans are reinforced by stereotypes of criminal behavior, low morals, incompetence, laziness and ignorance. But the real history and legacy of African Americans shows just the opposite. How do we change negative beliefs about a major segment of America's population? Should African American history be a required course for all school children? Would that improve race relations among the youth? What about adults? Should employees in sensitive positions such as those jobs related to criminal justice be required to take an African American history course to sensitize them?
