How do you know if you've had too much Botox; How to pick an injector. We'll also dispel some common myths. Facial cosmetic surgery improvement with injectables such as Restylane, Sculptra, Kybella, Botox and other injectable products is now extremely popular among patients seeking anti-aging or age reversing procedures. However, combining fillers and neuromodulators in a way that can give results similar to a facelift is an art. Board certified dermatologic surgeon Dr. Suneel Chilukuri of Bellaire, TX uses a combination approach that he calls the Liquid Facelift to offer patients an alternative to surgery. Let’s Face It, when most of us look in the mirror, we are not 100% happy with what we see. The human body is asymmetric so imperfections can be found and some are more apparent than others. As much as a person has the right to exercise to improve their physical look and health, the same applies with plastic surgery which can change a person’s entire outlook and well-being.
According the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), in 2014:
The top five cosmetic procedures were: breast augmentation, nose reshaping, liposuction, eyelid surgery and facelift
Not in the topic five but of noticeable gains were male breast reduction, tummy tuck and dermabrasion
Facial rejuvenation procedures experienced the most growth, as 2014 marked the highest number of botox injections to date: 6.7 million injections!
Tumor removal is overwhelmingly the top reconstructive procedure performed every year with more than 4.4 million procedures in 2014
So since everyone seems to be indulging one way or another, let’s talk about it! What is the true cost of perfection/beauty? Join Let’s Face w/Wil Strayhorn and Friends as we discuss the risks, dangers, costs, preventative measures and treatments available. We will talk to experts in the field as well as one patient that will discuss what happened when her plastic surgery procedures didn’t go as planned. Don’t missed this informative, thought provoking episode.
Will you be one of the millions of Americans who seek out some type of cosmetic rejuvenation procedure? It’s a fact: as we age, we still want to look like the best possible version of ourselves. Preferably a younger version of ourselves. Hey, if the Fountain of Youth existed, someone would have already purchased it! It may seem like time and gravity are conspiring against you as you notice the subtle and more obvious signs of aging such as dark spots on your skin, wrinkles, sagging skin on your face (and other places!), droopy eyelids, spider veins, and more. Both men and women have been on a quest to reverse the aging process, and from this desire, the field of Aesthetic Medicine was ultimately born. This is the specialty of improving your cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions such as scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots , cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. Dean Michael Tomasello, MD specializes in Medical Aesthetics with the goal of helping people look better and feel better about their appearance. Dr. Tomasello will explain some of the options that are available to improve your appearance that don’t involve invasive surgery. These include Botox, Dysport, Xeomin Dermal Fillers, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, and Cosmetic Laser treatments (IPL, laser hair removal, laser resurfacing). You know you’re curious about them all (and so am I), so here’s a great opportunity to get the facts straight from Dr. Tomasello, an expert in Medical Aesthetics. After the interview, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.
Collagen is essential for one’s overall health, fitness and wellbeing. It is the basic building block of skin, hair, hails, bones and joints. Our ancestors utilized sustainable whole animal nutrition, which provided an abundant amount of collagen. Today we will talk about collagen gelatin and bone broth - Better Than Botox with guest Corey Friese, Vital Proteins.
