According to Adele: For many years now, I believe the universe has been calling with a one-word message: Yes! Prior to the wake-up call, I was surrendering the fate of my work as a writer and audio book producer to the whimsical tastes of industry executives. Since then, I have struck out on my own and now operate a company which has been more successful than I imagined an “indie” studio could ever be.
Adele's latest project is called Yikes! Another Quirky Audio Book. A cast of 11 actors tell the story in funny, first-person narratives. Her first project, Jitters-A Quirky Little Audio Book, received a 2011 Audie from the Audio Publishers Association in the multi-voiced category. Finalists in this category included The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, Room by Emma Donoghue and The Shadow Effect by Deepak Chopra. All of these projects were produced by major studios like Hachette Audio, Harper Audio and L.A. Theatre Works which says Adele: “made the win by my indie studio, Straight to Audio Productions, a surprise to those in the audiobook industry.” Late Night Funnyman Jimmy Fallon also honored Jitters with a spot on his Do Not Read List.
