There was a time when it was limited to the hills and hollers of the rural south,but it begin to merge into the main stream starting in the late 30's and by the start of the 40's there were innovators that were taking the music to Churches, Grange Halls, and it begin to catch on. The Morris Brothers, The Lilly Brothers, Bill Monroe, Flatt &Scruggs, Doc Watson were just a few of the forerunners who helped establish Bluegrass Gosple and a venue that would not go away.

    Today we are Focusing on the Life & Music of the Legendary Ralph Stanley, he and his Brother The Late Carter Stanley teamed up as a duo in the hills of Virgnia,and played their style of Blue Grass Gospel Music.The sound of their group the Clinch Mountain Boys became a standard for others to follow,with the innovation of the double string guitar picking of George Shuffler, and fiddle Player  Curly Ray Cline. After his Brother Carter passed away in 1967, he revievd  the band and changed the name from the Stanley Brothers to Ralph Stanley &  The Clinch Mountain Boys. He added a new lead singer Larry Sparks, during years he had in his group, Ricky Skaggs, Keith Whitley, Charlie Sizemore, James Shelton. and  Ralph Stanley The ll.  Bill Monroe Had a dispute with with the record company when they Signed Ralph & Carter on the same label. And the rest is musical history for both men.

    Bluegrass Gospel Music heard and enjoyed around the world, was in part created by Bill Monroe from Rosine, Kentucky, he created a sound that become known as the High Lonesome sound of Bluegrass. Mr. Monroe took the old standard Hymns for the old church books, added  that special sound and musicial effect,and the sound exploded into a new venue of music. Songs Like Were You There When They Crusified My Lord, The Old Cross Road, Ralph & Carter Stanley with Rank Stranger, Who Will Sing For Me and all the other Artist and their songs are apart of the American Music Legacy. The Music of Doyle Lawson, Larry Sparks,J.D. Crowe, Joe Isaacs,The McReynold Brothers, and Mack Wiseman can not be duplicated they are the legends of Bluegrass Gospel Music.
