Like the Brady Bunch blended familes can prove to be todays traditional family! When a man and woman fall in love and bring along baggage which includes children from previous relationships it can be a slippery slope. Depending on the age of the children blending the families can often times cause a disruption in the relationship between the husband and wife. Other times one of the two may have one child or multiple children and the other may not have any causing the then single adult to take on responsibilities he or she may not be prepared for. And then you have the relationship with the man or woman whom has adult children. GEESH! Now comes the possible impact of the meeting of the minds.
How does the disconnection in the relationship between the married two work when one of the adults has STOPPED parenting for reasons of lack of love, concern, devotion or otherwise? How can the relationship move forward or can it? Dont miss out on this discussion today! I invite you for lunch to join me by simply calling in at 646.200.0995! Im your HOST, RhondaK and remember no conversation here is off limites! Tune in TODAY!
Raising a blended family comes with its share of hurdles. In the United States, approximately one-third of all households are blended. With patience and a optimistic outlook, the blended family can be one filled with affection, respect, and appreciation.
It isn’t easy for the children when parents remarry. They are trapped in the middle of a situation that can cause immediate feelings of frustration and sadness.
It can be particularly hard to find the right balance when you’re a stepparent. Many adults try to blend their families with high expectations. Many think it will be similar to their previous marriage in terms of time spent with their spouse and the attentiveness they’ll be able to give the relationship. Unfortunately, this may not match your reality.
Every family has a different dynamic. The trick to making a blended family work is finding a new, combined dynamic that includes time spent together, discipline, and rules BOTH parties can live with.
Let’s look at 7 tips for creating a great blended family.

[Season 3, Episode 01]
Join us as we will be discussing blended families. Just because two adults get along , love each other and want to spend eternity together does not mean their children feel the same. Or even happy for them. Many ups and downs come with putting two families together. We will be discussing some of the problems as well as logical solutions when dealing with combining families.
Preparing a successful estate plan starts with identifying the traditions, experiences and property that will be handed down to family members. "Who" will recieve "what" is easy for most families - all assets are transferred to a surviving spouse and children. But what if the giver is part of a blended family? That is, the giver has a child or children from one or more prior relationships. Is there a "fair," "equal," or "best," way to provide for a current spouse and children of the current marriage as well as children from a prior marriage? Should each child receive the same consideration? Will the age or relative financial condition of the children have any effect? Can a prior spouse really be disinherited in order to provide for the current spouse and children? The water can get muddy, but with a few planning tips, a parent's estate plan for transferring assets at death cn be made a lot clearer and easier.
