Chris Block hosts. Al Cimaglia of Sirius/XM Radio NHL joins to discuss the Chicago Blackhawks NHL Trade Deadline moves, how the Patrick Kane injury impacts the Hawks Stanley Cup chances, the World Cup of Hockey and much more. Finally, a special flashback ten minute interview I did on April 2, 2013 with the late Steve Montador.
The Chicago Cubs announced yesterday that they sent 3 of their young prospects to the minors. Team President Theo Epstein explained his reasons for doing so, but assured media and fans that all 3 players will have big roles for the Cubs moving forward. We're down to four teams in the NCAA Tournament, and three #1 seeds have made it through. Tonight I'll give my preview of one of the two matchups: Kentucky vs. Wisconsin in a rematch of last year's semifinal round. The Blackhawks got much needed wins on back to back nights against two Western Conference contenders, and things are getting very tight in the standings with 6 games left in the regular season. The Bulls, meanwhile, had a solid wire-to-wire victory over the lowly New York Knicks on Saturday, and have won 5 of 6. With the team in solid form, Derrick Rose has rejoined the team in full-contact practices, though Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau is still not committing to a specific return date. All this and your phone calls at (347) 327-9183!

The Chicago Bears have slowed their roll on the free agent market, which means increasing speculation regarding the upcoming NFL draft. What position do the Bears still desperately need? The Chicago Bulls meanwhile, have lost 5 of their last 6 and look utterly lost and hopeless without three of their key players. What can be done to salvage the season and their spot in the standings? The Blackhawks take on the New York Islanders tonight, having won two straight games where they finally got some production from their power play. Several players that had gone missing on the score sheet showed up. Can the Blackhawks keep it rolling without Patrick Kane? All this and your phone calls (347) 327-9183!

I'm breaking down the first games of the NCAA tourney and offering my pick to win it all. I'll give you a hint: it's not Kentucky. The Bears remain fairly quiet on the free agency market, but have their eye on a certain running back in the draft. The Bulls got a much needed win over the Indiana Pacers last night, as rookie Nikola Mirotic continues to shine. Meanwhile, Tom Thibodeau vocalizes his grievances regarding Joakim Noah's minutes restriction. The Blackhawks got big wins over two New York teams on back to back nights, and Corey Crawford is playing like a man possessed. All this and your phone calls @ (347) 327-9183. Tonight I'll break down the Blackhawks' 5-4 Overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks, as well as the Bulls finally getting a dominant win over a poor team at home. The Bulls have won 3 straight and opened their home stand with a win, but have a tough game tonight against the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers. The Blackhawks have dropped the first 2 of their 8 straight home games, getting 2 points sending each contest to OT/shootout. Which of these teams could benefit more from home court (or home ice) advantage in the playoffs? Both teams are currently in the middle of the pack in conference playoff seeding. Which team needs to push for a higher seed more? I'm taking callers @ (347) 327-9183, so call in and give me your take!
THE ED BOSTON PODCAST - #PRAYINGFORMARK
This week we are dedicating the show to praying for the lead singer of Casting Crowns, Mark Hall. Mark had cancer surgery on Wednesday and we will be praying, asking others to call in and pray and playing music from Casting Crowns.
There will be a total of 50 lines available and fans, musicians, and Christian leaders are all invited to call and talk about Mark, the power of prayer and to join us in prayer.
It all started a week prior to July 17, 2010. I had been thinking that it would be nice to start a podcast. I talked to a couple of friends of mine, and they said that it would be fun to do. My idea was going to be a different podcast with a different friend every week, and then they would cycle through again. Well on that first day of my podcast, nobody was going to be available and I thought that I was going to have to do the first show all by myself. My friend Joe said that he might be able to call in and be my co-host. I waited and never heard from him. The show was about to start. I had the phone ready to start my show. It started, and boy was I nervous. I called the show A Possible Gay Inception becuase I was going to talk about Grease that I had just seen in the theater and the movie Inception that I had seen a couple hours before that. After about maybe 3 to 5 minutes my friend Joe did call in. What a relief that was. We discussed movies and whatever else. The show was ok, but not great. The next show I invited my friend Serjio over to record a show. We did good, but not great. The next week he came back and this time we had a format. the show was great. We had laughed and had a good time, and that's all that matters. We were off and running. We did several shows unless Serjio had to do something with the kids. When he wasn't available then Joe or Shawn would step in. It was such a blast. After about forty something shows, it was getting costly 40 bucks a month. So then I went to Godaddy.com and was fine there, but didn't know if anyone from blogtalk was listening to us. We did about 6 or 8 more shows and occasionaly did a teaser on blogtalk, but then life got in the way and we slowly stopped podcasting. That was in 2011. Then we met Kevin Smith in L.A. and that made us want to do it again, but alas we did not. Now it is 2015 and I am ready to do it again. This time with a different friend every week. So excited.

After receiving the good news regarding Derrick Rose's impending return in time for the playoffs, the Chicago Bulls can't seem to catch a break, suffering injuries to two more key players over the weekend. Who on the Bulls roster can be that "next man up" and compensate for the loss in production from the team's star players? Meanwhile the Chicago Blackhawks were busy at the NHL trade deadline, acquiring veteran pieces to alleviate the loss of Patrick Kane and bolster their thin defense. Can the new guys help the Hawks make it deep enough into the playoffs for Kane to return? A 5-2 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes last night certainly helped ease the pain and instill some confidence within the team's locker room. With all that's going on for the Bulls and Hawks, are you looking at the positives or negatives? I've got open phone lines for you! (347) 327-9183. BECAUSE CHICAGO LOVES SPORTS.
