Red River Radio What's Write for Me

    in Books

Dellani and Rachel are delighted to welcome back Janet and Chris Morris: authors, musicians, horse lovers....

Janet's work has been a long time favorite of Dellani's, begun when she discovered The Thieves World books and fell in love with Tempus Thales. Delighted to find out that Janet was not only writing new material, but had brought out authors cuts of her favorite stories, Dellani was in heaven. (Unlike some of Janet's characters who are in hell.) Author of more books than one can easily count, we're thrilled to have her back.

Janet's husband, Chris, is a fantastic musician and has co-authored some of the many books. He has also done recordings of several of their titles and, we hope, can be persuaded to read for us again. (Because, I'll be honest, he has one of the sexiest voices ever.)

We're going to have a wonderful time talking about books, writing, music and, of course, the beautiful horses that Chris and Janet raise. So tune in for a great time.

Happy Holidays.  I can't beleive I am saying that.  Halloween is behind us and Thanksgiving is around the corner. My two guests for November are rare treats, Amy M. Bennett and Virgil Alexander.

Amy M. Bennett was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, but has spent most of her life in New Mexico. ?

End of the Road is the first book in her Black Horse Campground series.

When she’s not writing, Amy is a cake decorator at Walmart in Alamogordo, NM or  serving wine at Noisy Water Winery in mid-town Ruidoso.

Virgil Alexander was born in rural Gila County, Arizona, and grew up in the area of Globe-Miami. An ardent Arizona history enthusiast

he spent much of his boyhood reading about and experiencing historic sites and the natural environment. His latest book is The Baleful Owl.

There is a chill in the air this morning, and both of these authors have books perfect to read, curled in a chair by the fireplace.  Hope you are able to

stop by and chat with us.

Red River Radio's No Limits with Barbara M. Hodges

    in Books

My guests for October are Tony Piazza and Sue McGinty, mystery authors extrodinare.

As well as a mystery writer, Tony is a film historian, presenter, and a veteran storyteller well-known for his passion about writing and movies.

He is the author of four mystery novels, “Anything Short of Murder,” “A Murder Amongst Angels,” “Murder is Such Sweet Revenge,” and “The Curse of the Crimson Dragon”. All available through Amazon. Piazza’s  memoir, “Bullitt Points,” from SansTree, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the classic Steve McQueen movie “Bullitt” and the involvement of the Piazza family in the production.

With little more than an urge to hang out at the beach, write mystery novels, and mollify a grumpy cat who’d never ridden in a car before, Sue McGinty left Los Angeles on June 17, 1994—the same day OJ Simpson took flight across the LA freeways. Unlike OJ, Sue had a destination in mind: the Central Coast town of Los Osos. Not the Cabot Cove of “Murder She Wrote,” but close.

Tony and Sue  are both members of the Central Coast chapter of Sister's In Crime.

Come join me for what will be an entertaining hour.

Hipnotics ... LA Psychedelic R&B Band

    in Rock Music

Tonight Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes the LA Based Psychedelic R&B Band, Hipnotics to the show!

Hipnotics are an up-and-coming, and I mean rocketing to the moon, experimental psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles.  Heavily influenced by the cosmic sounds of the late 60’s, the band consists of five music-savvy individuals: Lead Guitar/Vocalist - Matt Ernst, Bassist - Sean Conway, Drummer - Josh Apple, Guitarist/Keys - Zach “Binxy” Apple, and last but not least, Flautist/Saxophone - Zach “RoseGold” Rose - the newest addition to the band.
Most have known each other for over eight fruitful years. Together they’ve developed a unique style of vocal sampling and sound wave manipulation that combines their R&B, Rock n’ Roll and psychedelic influences.
