Tune into one of the very first episodes of the UCY Radio Show in 2012 where the topic is VALUES. Many are asking themselves if values are declining across the board for the entire American society regardless of race, creed or color. This show analyzes what the decline means to our relationships with each other as well as todays children. Our guest take a close look at the importance of teaching key values and principles in the household while discovering how to deal with other children and adults who were not fortunate enough to receive these teachings. Child influences have great impact on character. Being that we have to deal with more and more who are not taught key values and principles...where does this leave us? The Urban City Youth Radio Team explains.
Agitator Radio with Host Robert Dawkins
Robert discusses: progressive politics, race relations, American politics, African American, culture, demographics, social justice, economic justice, racial disparity, justice, American history, society, social change, law enforcement, police, labor, labor organizing, organized labor, North Carolina, community action, community organization, and more!
Robert's guest today is Rev. Charles White, National Field Director for National Action Network. The right to equal justice under the law should not be conditional or based upon a person’s color or economic status. Over the last two decades NAN has been in the vanguard of the movement to bring such equality to every community that has been unfairly treated. Using the principles of non-violent direct action and civil disobedience NAN has helped to level the field and ensure a measure of justice for those who would abuse their status or seek to dispense justice based upon race or other illegal factors. Racial profiling, stop and frisk policing and police brutality were standard practice in many communities just 20 years ago. NAN has successfully changed that paradigm by ensuring that those who violate the law are brought to justice.
