Plot Summary: Birdman or "The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance" is a black comedy that tells the story of an actor (Keaton) ? famous for portraying an iconic superhero ? as he struggles to mount a Broadway play. In the days leading up to opening night, he battles his ego and attempts to recover his family, his career, and himself.
Albert Wolsky was born in Paris, France in 1930.His first entree was working as a "gofor" to legendary costume maker Helene Pons during her execution of the Adrian/Tony Duquette designs for the original Broadway production of "CAMELOT". ithin six years, he was designing Broadway productions under his own name and in 1968, he would have his first film credit, "HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER". Bringing the knowlege he learned while working on Broadway, Mr. Wolsky would concentrate his career on the designing of feature films. Over the next three decades he would build a body of work impressive not only by size but by it's addressing every possible film genre with a consistant level of design quality. His easy manner and eye for detail would not only bring him repeat assignments from his colleaugues but earn him the reputation as both Paul Muzarsky's and the late Bob Fosse's costume designer. To date, he has been nominated for the Academy Award five times, winning it twice. He was also honored by The Costume Designer's Guild with their lifetime achievement award. He worked with Bob Fosse, a leading Broadway director, on All That Jazz and won his first Academy Award. He won his second Academy Award for Bugsy in 1991 and has been nominated five other times, most recently for his work on Julie Taymor's Beatles-inspired musical Across the Universe (2007) andSam Mendes's Revolutionary Road (2008) and most recently for Birdman. He is the recipient of the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award For Costume Design. In 2010, Wolsky donated his costume design sketches to the Margaret Herrick Library at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. One is easily the most anticipated movie of the season; the other is anticipated only by Keanu Reeves fans. But which one will actually turn out to be the best movie of the week: Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's meta-comedy Birdman starring Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, and Edward Norton? Or John Wick, with Reeves back as an action superstar?
