    Special Guest Billy Grima

    in Music

Please join Miss Catherine as she welcomes in a very special guest, Billy Grima.

Billy Grima is a singer/ songwriter living in the Caledon Hills of Ontario, Canada. Born in Blacktown, NSW Australia, Billy started writing at a very young age and was singing in a church choir by the age of 8 years old. At 15, Billy moved to Canada and settled in Toronto.   Like classic singer/songwriters, Billy Joel, Jim Croce, James Taylor and Bob Dylan, life's daily realities and everyday events are a source of Billy's inspiration.  His smooth and soulful sound has earned him comparisons to contemporaries Jason Mraz, Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson and even Bruno Mars.

Billy has 3 albums to his credit: I'm Just Standing , A Little Piece Of Heaven and his latest, titled Sugar & Cream, produced and engineered by Pete Swann (Glass Tiger’s Alan Connely, Adrian and Justin Lifeson, sons of Rush’s Alex Lifeson.)  Sugar & Cream features a tasty blend of pop, rock, soul and Americana, including the first single, “Pleasure To Have Met You.”  The album is going for worldwide radio adds this spring.

"Writing a hook or humming a melody is medicine,” Grima says.  Let Sugar & Cream be the prescription for your perfect playlist.

The chat room will be opened for questions and comments.  Thanks for your support!

I Dare You To Be Great with guest Earth lawyer and advocate Polly Higgins

    in Self Help

Why is it important for us to save our environment to save ourselves?

According to my guest Polly Higgins the extensive damage or loss of the ecosystem of a given territory - be made a legally recognized crime. Polly is a passionate advocate for more comprehensive environmental safeguard. Polly has realized that great change, and thereby the greatness, begins with the individual self, and that before we can break the cycle of environmental harm playing out across the world, each one of us must break our own personal Ecocides. “I Dare you to be great” a book by Polly Higgins signals rousing call to arms for all mankind to join her in one giant leap toward greatness.

“I Dare you to be great” explores Polly Higgins’ story as an Earth lawyer as she discovers how we can create a legal duty of care for the Earth – a law of Ecocide. We have a choice: break our chains and create a greater freedom, or remain enslaved to an era of Ecocide. Polly invites in a conversation of a different kind; firing up a neural pathway of exploration that takes us into the unknown yet expands our vision of what our legacy could be. Sharing her insights, she sheds a light on what is possible – a vision far greater and more beautiful than we have dared before.

    in Sports

Welcome to "The Mad Scientist Sports Lab", hosted by "The Mad Scientist of Sports" Nick Ficorelli. This is not the average everyday sports show he is bringing to the air waves. "The Mad Scientist" has created his own personal sports lab, and you, the audience, as well as many of his special guests, will be his test subjects. He will throw theories out, and you never know where they will be coming from. He will keep everyone guessing, and he will open his lab to any and all comers. Be prepared for "mad science" of sports at its best.

This week on "The Mad Scientist's Sports Lab", our special guest at 1030pm EST will be former Texas Ranger and New York Yankee, and now accomplished movie director, Billy Sample. Billy will discuss his career in the big leagues, his favorite memories, and give his take on today's game. He will also talk about his new movie "Reunion 108", a full-length, comedy feature film that promises to be a no holds bar behind the scenes and in your face look into the world of professional baseball. You definitely do not want to miss this.

Also appearing this week - at 10pm, we will have for the first time in the lab, Shane Young from Hoops Habit to give his preview of the NBA Playoffs, at 11pm we welcome back Antwan Staley to talk some Major League Baseball as the season starts to get into full swing, and at 1130pm, we welcome back Chris Wassel from Project Roto to talk about the NHL Playoffs.

CM Radio - Apr 8, 2015 - Billy Talent, The Lazys

    in Music

This is a fun one. Mike dropped into Revolution Recording in Toronto, where Billy Talent guitarist Ian D'Sa was in the producer's chair while Australian rockers The Lazys were on the other side of the glass. Mike had a chance to sit down with them between sessions to chat about the project, production work, and get some updates from Billy Talent as well.

We'll also hear about a great initiative called Guitars 4 VETS. The name is self-explanitory and it's a great cause we can all get behind.

Of course, we'll also have the usual Canadian music industry round-up and our Canadian Spotlight song of the week, submitted as always via Reverbnation.
