A Biblical Perspective: Health for the Holidays

    in The Bible

Does God care about your health?  3rd John 1: 2 says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul prospers”, so clearly, God wants you to be in good health.  But here is the key—3rd John suggests that you obtain good health much in the same way that you obtain a prosperous soul—by accepting the truth and making good decisions.  Simply put, if God cares about your health, you should, too.

During this season, many people cast off restraint, eating a week’s worth of calories in just one or two days.  Really and truly, such behavior is often an exacerbation of the poor habits that we make throughout the year.   Considering that the number one killer of all Americans is heart disease and that the fourth leading cause is stroke, this is an important topic to which we should all give heed.

"The Vision" for Biblical Health (Premier Episode)

    in Nutrition

Proverbs 29:18  "Where there is no vision, the people perish.  But he that keeps the Law, happy is he!"
On today's inaugual episode of Biblical Health Radio, we present the guiding vision for our network, and fill you in on what to expect from our weekly broadcasts.
Warning:  We're not "your grandmother's Biblical health internet radio channel", so make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened and come prepared for a challenging word.
Also, know that while all are welcome, we are a "Believer to Believer" educational network, with an unashamedly Biblical worldview.   Our battle is against the Medical, Pharmaceutical, and Food mega-industries and their "economy of death", as well as the Mainstream Media that helps promote their agenda.
Revelation 18 is alive and well today, as the "Great Men of the Earth" deceive the nations with their "pharmakia" (drug sorcery).
Our Answer: "Come out of her My people!"
    Welcome, to Biblical Health Radio!

Behavioral Health Compliance: Making It Easy for Providers and Agencies

    in Psychology

HIPAA, HITECH, Omnibus,  PCI regulations - these are words that can strike fear into the heart of any Behavioral Health organization.  They don't need to as we found after speaking with our guest today on Mental Health News Radio.  We sat down with Marc Haskelson, the President and CEO of Compliancy Group, to find out how easy compliance can be.

What is the difference between HIPAA and Meaningful  Use (MU) ?

Do I have to attest for Meaningful Use?  What If I don’t attest?

Who is considered a Vendor or a Business Associate?

I am now accepting Medicare, does that put me at a higher risk for an audit just like everyone else?

If I completed a Risk Assessment last year, do I have to do it again this year?

Is there an insurance policy available that helps an entity with HIPAA  fines?

What triggers an audit?  How do they know that they should audit you?

Has your software solution ever been involved where an actual audit was being done by either CMS or OCR?

If an EHR vendor or billing agency, as an example, are not following HIPAA compliance where can one go to report these actions?

Please join us this Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. PST and 7:00 p.m. EST for a live show with host Denise Messenger.  Our special guest is Dr Gil Kajiki.  He is the founder of the Valley Thyroid Institute. He graduated from the Pasadena College of Chiropractic and has been a chiropractor for 30 years. The main focus of his practice is thyroid and Auto Immune conditions.
Through working with his patients he developed the Kajiki Protocol for determining thyroid and autoimmune issues with a particular concentration on Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  He offers his patients answers and protocols to improve thyroid function and overall health.
With his roots in chiropractic-biophysics, Dr. Kajiki was busy helping patients in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California with their spinal structural corrective care when his wife became ill with what at first appeared to be Epstein Barr.
As he watched his wife’s health deteriorate under the care of several doctors, Dr. Kajiki began a relentless search for answers to why his healthy wife could become so ill and yet no one seemed to know how to care for her. After more than two years of tests, medication, B12 shots, and finally hospitalization, it was her husband and not her medical provider who came to her rescue.
After countless hours of study, consultation with colleagues, and testing, Dr. Kajiki diagnosed his wife with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that attacks the thyroid. He spent the next several months treating her autoimmune condition through natural supplements, lifestyle modifications, and dietary changes. She is now symptom free and doesn’t take any thyroid medication.  Dr. Kajiki has an educational 5 DVD series of self-help for patients with chronic thyroid problems called “The Thyroid Mystery Solved”.  You asked for it and we deliver!

Marketing in Behavioral Health: Lifting the Veil with CEO, Michael Myles

    in Psychology

What a boon for us to interview Michael Myles, CEO of Active Marketing. His firm is the only strategic marketing firm that caters exclusively to Behavioral Health. It's our pleasure to work directly with his organization. Having owned founded an electronic health record software company certainly gives him an edge when it comes to marketing technology. Michael and our host, Kristin Walker, could have talked for hours. The intel given on this show is invaluable. Michael shared some information about the show in the Q & A below but you'll have to listen in for the GOLD!

    Why Behavioral Health?

Which Sectors of Behavioral Health do you focus on?

What services do you provide to the behavioral health market?

Why is marketing overlooked by this sector of healthcare (especially EHR)?

As the market matures, what can EHR vendors and other Behavioral Health business service providers do to keep up?

Be agile, and test your marketing. Find out what is working and what isn’t, then make changes. Make decisions quickly, and then test them.

What channels offer the biggest growth opportunities for EHR companies in behavioral health?

What do you see as the most effective channels to market for companies marketing to behavioral healthcare providers?

What are the most common mistakes you see companies making when marketing to the behavioral health category?

How do you measure success when marketing an EHR?

Are there any benchmarks that you use as a rule-of-thumb to determine if a marketing plan for a software company is working?
