An elderly man was working in his garden one day and suddenly collapsed. His wife of 46 years, seeing what had taken place, immediately called 911. He was transported to the nearest hospital. The ER physician recommended that he be admitted but the man refused and checked himself out (he thought about the cost associated with a hospital stay). Two days later, his oldest son found him lying face down in his garden, not breathing. The elderly man was transported to the same hospital but expired before arriving. The life insurance company was under no obligation to release any funds because he had refused admittance to the hospital.
As Christians, it’s our responsibility to know, understand and employ God’s wisdom when it comes to our salvation package. The man in the story might have lived to see his 100th wedding anniversary had he been familiar with his medical benefits package which allowed him and/or his spouse up to twelve (12) days of overnight hospital stays per year, at no cost. What's in your salvation packet that you've yet to take advantage of?
