Do Women See Their Men As A Benefit Or A Threat To Their Existence?

    in Lifestyle

Is the typical woman worried or bombarded with the  concern that her life might be in danger at the hands of her husband or  male significant other?

    ....Very possibly..

What are the variables or factors  which have fueled such a conclusion or belief?

Base on where we are socially, is this a justified, or real, or valid concern that women should always keep in the forefront of their minds?

Lastly: Are women exonerated from being co-creators of  such seeming reality?

    in Music

Tonight at 8 - 10 pm join us (Professor D, a new addition to "Loving Your Mandingo Man".)- On behalf of Dr. Ev, and CaribbeanRadio Show extend a warm welcome to Professor D.

Who benefits from withholding sex? What is pushing you away? Let's get to the root of the problem!

Is Refusing Sex a Sign of Emotional Abuse?

Many women think of sex as their ultimate power when it comes to relationships. Even a joking comment, "Haha! No bootie for you, patootie!" can make a man's chest clench in anticipated agony!

When she's not joking, and instead uses her sexual availability to manipulate her boyfriend or husband into doing things her way, she's engaging in a form of emotional abuse. This passive-aggressive technique may be overt or covert. She might say she doesn't want to play unless he comes around to what she wants, or she may feign headaches, tiredness, or other ailments to avoid intimacy.

Music Smiles - A Benefit Concert for AMTA

    in Health

Brittany Trinite from Austin TX sent this in: I have been a musician for most of my life and have always wanted to sing to give back in some way, but wasn’t sure how for many years. Last year, I discovered how to bring the idea of a concert to benefit a great cause to life. When I was in middle school, I discovered music is used to entertain and as a wonderful creative outlet, but can also act as medicine to heal and is being studied and researched to support these ideas, in music therapy. I reached out to the music community of Austin to help me in producing “Healing Sounds”, what would be the first concert benefiting the Research fund of the American Music Therapy Association.

The musicians all chose pieces that they found to be healing, either personally or to others in all kinds of ways from enjoying the sounds to the words and the feelings that surfaced. “Healing Sounds” brought together friends and musicians that knew each other as well as those who had not met yet! The music healed in the experience itself and raised awareness and $207 for AMTA’s research fund. This year’s concert, “Music Smiles” will feature pieces that, you guessed it, make people smile! The musicians are choosing their own individual or collaborative pieces to perform for the show on January 10, 2015 at 7pm at the chapel of First United Methodist Church, 1201 Lavaca, Austin, TX. Tickets are $10 each with a military and student discount of $7, but more donations are welcome! All proceeds benefit the Research fund of the American Music Therapy Association.

Brittany will by my guest on this show to talk about the concert, how you can attend, and how you can donate to music therapy research!

How The Effects Of Music Can Benefit Both The Caregiver & The Care-Receiver

    in Caregiving

Join Dave Nassaney, The Caregiver's Caregiver, Wednesday, 4/1/15 at noon, PST, (AND AFTERWARDS ON RECORDED PODCAST) as he interviews Grammy & Emmy recipient, Janie Lidey, who has been a singer/songwriter since the age of twelve, and also a caregiver to her father who is suffering from ALS and Alzheimer's.

    The link is:  http://www.blogtalkradio.com/davenassaney/2015/04/01/how-the-effects-of-music-can-benefit-both-the-caregiver-the-care-receiver

Janie has been recognized for her excellence in music through winning an Emmy for her songwriting; a Grammy for the fine arts program she helped direct at East High School in Anchorage, Alaska; the Mayor’s Arts Award which recognizes excellence in music education; and, a spot on the George Lucas Edutopia website for her role in helping make the world a better place.

As a music teacher in the public schools of Alaska for over two decad...es, Janie Lidey taught students from over forty different cultures. Not only did she teach them to sing and play the guitar, she taught them to live their lives with passion, kindness, love, hope and gratitude. The most important lesson was to instill the belief in her students that they could do anything they dreamed or imagined.

As an artist, teacher, motivational speaker and now author, Janie is passionate about raising your vibration through the magic of a song. She released her first book and companion CD in 2013 called, The Magic of A Song and is excited to connect with people from all ages and walks and shine some love & light on their journey.
