Boxing has had an international flavor the last few weekends, even if that hasn't added quite as much to the plate as we had hoped. The sport has seemingly tried to kill the stench left from a lack of quality in 2014 by simply throwing more fights our way at the end of the year. It might work, it might not. But it doesn't matter, because we'll always be back. This week on TQBR Radio, James Foley of Bad Left Hook and The Queensberry Rules' Patrick Connor relive the weekend by recapping Terence Crawford's wide win over Raymundo Beltran on HBO (which also featured Evgeny Gradovich's draw with Jayson Velez), and the Tyson Fury's second win over Dereck Chisora, with Billy Joe Saunders getting by Chris Eubank, Jr. in the co-feature. A lot of boxing happened, it's just that most of it wasn't particularly exciting. We'll still talk about it, though -- and upcoming stuff like David Lemieux vs Gabe Rosado. Thanks for tuning in!

Terence Crawford (25-0, 17 KOs) the Omaha, Nebraskan native put on a dominating performance in front of his home crowd, to retain his WBO light welterweight title. Given the fact his opponent was Raymundo Beltran (29-7, 17 KOs), one of the top fighters in the lightweight division, Crawford’s masterful performance certainly makes him a top contender for fighter of the year honors.
Tyson Fury now improves his undefeated record (23-0, 17 KOs) by stopping the overly matched Dereck Chisora (20-5, 13 KOs). The mismatch was evident from the opening bell.
Fury used his height and reach to keep Chisora at a distance, and constantly peppered him with jabs, and combinations from the outside.
Billy Joe Saunders (21-0, 11 Kos) gets a hard fought split decision victory over Chris Eubank Jr. (18-1, Kos 13). In boxing there is nothing more exciting than two young undefeated fighters in their prime, giving it their all, and that’s what happened in the Excel Arena.
In the first half of the fight Saunders and Eubank Jr. got into a technical fight, both trying to measure and outwit each other. Eubank Jr. is a decent boxer, but was clearly outmatched from a technical standpoint by Saunders. We will with out a shadow of a doubt be taking live calls on air from you the voice of the people. My Guest Tonight is Aaron Beltran. He’s 23 years old and because of several concussions and head injuries he is multiple Brain Injury Survivor. He I only had a slight concussion was dizzy and got sick after a little while. Then I was fine did not think too much of it. He was told by his Doctors that if I ever hit my head again I probably will not be here anymore. The first time I have had a concussion. I was in fourth grade playing football with all my friends and as I was running to catch the ball, I ran into a tree. I only had a slight concussion was dizzy and got sick after a little while I was fine and did not think too much of it. Then about six months later, I was riding a horse that took off with me. I ended up falling off my helmet came off and I hit my head hard. It also broke my arm on this fall. My mother rushed me to the doctor as I had seizures with this head injury. I don’t remember too much about just what people have told me. Then a couple of years later I was at a horse show and I jumped the fence when I went over the head of my horse and fell on my head. I was wearing a helmet and a safety vest. I still had a bad concussion and was dizzy and sick for two days. A lot of years went by and every now and then for no reason I would get a little dizzy at times and did not think much of it. At the time I was 18 years old and them out foxhunting in Maryland coming up to a jump the horse decided to stop now, when I was foxhunting. We didn’t have a harness on a helmet, so as a horse stopped his head came up hit me in the face and the helmet flew off. I did stay on the horse and had a bloody face my helmet flew off. I did stay on the horse and had a bloody nose, but being who I am. I brushed it off and kept on going for another hour. When I did get back to the barn the grooms asked if I was okay. They said I was white as a sheet and I told them I didn’t feel very well, so they put me in the car and took me to the hospital.
Terrance Crawford finishes 2014 with 3 wins.
We are redoing the show format, name and starting on a new path. We need to proceed forward in this movement and we need to start it soon. I know people are divided, and some think one solution is better then another. We need to make a plan.
