Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he became a fellow of Stanford University Medical School in the USA and later took up other prestigious positions including Physician-in-Waiting to the British Royal Family on their visits to New York, and it was here that he set up his private practice, in Manhattan.
His interest in ME/CFS began when a childhood friend in Ireland contracted the illness and asked him for help. He has been researching, treating and advocating for this illness ever since.

A transplanted city girl, Carolyne moved to the country when her fiancee and now husband, decided he wanted to farm. The move took quite well and Carolyne learned to milk cows, herd cows, drive a tractor, can, freeze, garden, bake, cook and preserve. She and her husband raised four wonderful children and took in numerous foster children. Somewhere along the way Carolyne decided she wanted to recreate her own version of the romance novels she loved reading. In her writing she yearns to show redemption and change and the chance to start over. Coming home to faith and love is a thread that is woven through every story she writes. Christine Lindsay writes Christian historical novels with strong love stories such as her debut novel SHADOWED IN SILK which is set in India during a turbulent era. Christine's long-time fascination with the British Raj was seeded from stories of her Irish ancestors who served in the British Cavalry in Colonial India.
CAPTURED BY MOONLIGHT is Book 2 in this series Twilight of the British Raj.
SHADOWED IN SILK was the recipient of the 2009 ACFW Genesis for Christian Historical, the overall winner of the 2011 Grace Award in the category Adventure/Action/Epic, and was a finalist in the 2012 Readers' Favorite Award. Be sure to watch the book trailer for CAPTURED BY MOONLIGHT, and turn up the volume on your computer. The music is wonderful.
Adding to Christine's Irish pride is the fact that her great-grandfather and her grandfather both worked as riveters in the Belfast shipyard and one of the ships they built was the Titanic.
The Pacific coast of Canada is Christine's home, and like a lot of writers, her cat is her chief editor.

Meet host Frances Micklem of Harmony Hall:
Tuning in from my sacred geometry retreat in Kilkenny, Ireland, I intend to introduce listeners to the wonderful and diverse world of energy fields…and bring them back into harmony at the same time. I hope to empower people through an expanded realization of our inter-connectedness.
Frances worked in recording studios with bands like Radiohead and Supergrass. Then she received a first class degree in Philosophy and Theology from Queen’s in Belfast.
Thrived next as a social worker and manager of a homelessness project in London.
She moved to Ireland, built Harmony Hall and started energy clearing…initially people who had passed away and animals, but now mainly personal and environmental distance clearings.

An important new Ecovillage is being settled this year in the vibrant seaside community of Belfast, Maine, USA. Sanna will describe the journey of the community from it's initial vision in 2007 to it's newest milestone: the first members moving in this month, June 2012.
NWP welcomes Irish singer/songwriter, Andy McCarroll. I talk with this school teacher from Belfast who is also an accomplished singer and songwriter.
This school teacher was "called into action" after the Sandyhook school masacre as well as what he believes other countries around the world perceives as out of control gun laws and wrote a "Masters of War". Andy has a unique perspective on US gun rights. I find it interesting to listen to his thoughts as someone looking at the United States from the outside. Not sure our ideas are the same but I'm willing to listen to his opinions and get an inside look into how the world perceives our 2nd Amendment.
This show I am delighted to speak to Mary Jo McVeigh she is a lighthearted vivacious woman originally from Belfast who is based is Sydney. Mary Jo does incredible work with children. Her life's work has been in social work, helping children (and others as well). She has a beautiful outlook and shares it with us.
Mary Jo has an inspiring personal story of her own when she shares her battle with cancer and graciously talks about with humor.
Please enjoy this show!
You can get a copy of Mary Jo McVeighs book on her website and contact her there too.
