Gair Maxwell - The Voice Of Maritime Wrestling

    in Wrestling

Fans of wrestling in the Maritime provinces of Canada will remember Gair Maxwell as the long-time host and play-by-play man for Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling.  Always in his trademark tuxedo with red bowtie, Maxwell verbally tied together the action in the ring during the golden era of Maritime Wrestling having called the matches of such superstars as Leo Burke, No Class Bobby Bass, Killer Karl Krupp, The Cuban Assassin, Rotten Ron Starr and countless others.

Always entertaining and engaging, Gair was always quick-witted on the microphone, which came in handy when he was dealing with the likes of mouthpieces Bass & Brown sitting beside him weekly for commentary.  Never one to shy away from the tongue-in-cheek fun the heels would poke at him, Gair was beloved by Maritime wrestling fans and was the soundtrack to many Saturday afternoon and evenings when AGPW would air on ATV.

These days, Gair Maxwell is a very successful motivational speaker and author.  He has delivered over 1,000 keynotes,
seminars and workshops all over North America to many different audiences.  He's spoken at TedTalks in Moncton.  Gair's book, Nuts, Bolt & a Few Loose Screws is formatted as a composition of essays and short stories that connect the dots when it comes to building brands that stick.

It is indeed an honor and a privlege for Jeff & Bobby to welcome Mr. Gair Maxwell, the voice of Maritime Wrestling to Pure Class on our next show.

Please join us for what is sure to be an unforgettable show with the voice we all know and love.

    Another legendary Bass Player!

    in Rock Music

First it was Steve Fossen (HEART BY HEART) now its Fran Sheehan (formerly of BOSTON)  from the American Vinyl All-Star Band who will be appearing on my show this week. I don't know what it is but I seem to be attracting bass players to the show so far, not that it's a bad thing, but now I have to get Geddy Lee or Steve Harris next  to complete the trio. Tune in this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. est to listen as I ask this rock legend about being apart of one of the Biggest Selling debut albums (until GNR surpassed it with Appetite) of all time. There is so much to ask him, he actually has a strange tie in to Van Halen that I want to discuss. So please listen in or as always, I would love for you guys to call in and ask this rock Legend about his experiences and his newest project. and the legendary band members he is currently playing with.

The Knicks and Nets Suck and the Rangers are killing it, but the Islanders are hurting and the Devils maybe sneaking in to the Playoffs so that is top of the list for me. But wait I think pitchers and cathchers reported last week which means the circus is in town, yes there has been an A-ROD  sighting in Florida so I am sure there will be news from Yankees camp to discuss.

Matt Harvey is throwin "Stinkin Dynamite" (Thanks to boomer and carton show) so we have plenty of Mets news for you as well.

Oh and by the way, Winston and Marriotta threw at the combine, who fared better? and who helped his draft status?  Tune in I will tell you.

All of this and a legendary bass player? Where can you get this kind of value for your money? Actually its free so I could put on a shit show and it would still make sense..

See you live this Thursday on Blogtalkradio.com

    Keep on Rockn'!!!!

"Mr. Beefy Goodness" Vance Nevada - Canadian Pro Wrestler & Historian

    in Wrestling

This week, we have a very special guest for the whole two hours.  We're very pleased to welcome Candian pro wrestler & wrestling historian "Mr. Beefy Goodness" Vance Nevada.

After being trained by Ernest Rheault in River City Wrestling at the tender age of 17, Nevada had a rough go of it. He was a small fish in a big man's game.

Soon he hit his stride in tag matches with Robby Royce, and by 1994 The Wild Ones were successes in the Manitoba area.

Nevada decided to strike out on his own, and began a heated feud with Royce, which was played out over the airwaves of RCW's weekly TV program and culminated in a ladder match. After the match, Nevada was out of action for two month with injuries.

When he returned to action, he tagged with Bugsy Sluggliano as Models Inc. Their feud with Robby Royce and Andy Anderson even carried over into the Carolinas and Kentucky.

Next up for Nevada was the Canadian Junior Heavyweight title, which he has held six times between 1995 and 1998. He has feud with Spice Richards, Andy Anderson, Alex Rain, Todd Myers and many more over the belt.

A series of injuries forced him to retire in early 1999.

Vance is also the author of "Wrestling In The Canadian West"...a comprehensive and exhaustive history of professional wrestling in Western Canada.

A brilliant speaker and one of the greatest minds in the wrestling business, "Pure Class" is pleased to welcome Vance Nevada to the show tonight!  This is one show you WON'T want to miss!
