Dyslexia is the most common reason a bright child will struggle with spelling, writing, or reading. But it affects many other areas as well. Children with dyslexia also have difficulty:
Memorizing their address, the alphabet, or their multiplication tables
Learning to tie their shoes
Writing some letters or numbers backwards past the end of first grade
Learning to tell time on a clock with hands
Telling left from right. Confusing letter pairs such as b-d, b-p,p-q, or g-j
Saying sounds in the right order in multi-syllable words such as animal, spaghetti, hamburger, consonant
Handwriting: their letters don’t sit on the line,
there may be odd spacing between their words,
tall letters are sometimes written as short ones,
tails don’t always hang below the line,
sentences often don’t start with capital letters, and
punctuation is often left out.

About Dr. Torri J. Evans-Barton:
"A transplant from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Torri J. Evans-Barton currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she is the Founder & CEO of The Fatherless Generation Foundation. Growing up in a single parent household, Torri faced many adversities adding tremendous devastation to her life emphasizing the fact she needed her father.
This burden burning on the inside of Torri J. Evans-Barton caused her to realize there were others who are growing up fatherless just like her who desire reconciliation with their absent father. Her desire has now turned into a full time mission of “healing the broken places the fatherless experience has created” through her nonprofit, The Fatherless Generation Foundation Inc. Launched in 2009, TFGF is a non-profit organization based in Atlanta, Georgia reuniting fathers and their children by providing the resources and services that strengthen, support, and elevate the commitment to fatherhood and family values. Their services include Husband & Wife Team Mentor Teams, Peer Groups hosted in The Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 10 cities, Tutoring, but at the helm of the organization is Commitment to Fatherhood Program; the mediation process taking place reuniting biological fathers back into the lives of their children!"

LeRon L. Barton is a writer, photographer, and all around artist. He started Mainline Publishing to produce works that will captivate and get people talking. After tons of rejections letters and crazy advice from agent, I decided to take my destiny into my own hands and go indie, and Mainline Publishing was born. The idea behind the company was to showcase works that maybe considered too controversial for other houses to take on. The first project, Straight Dope: A 36o degree look into American Drug Culture delves into why drugs are so prevalent in America. With this edgy project, Straight Dope sets the precedent for other works to follow.

Susan Griffin is a poet, essayist, playwright and screenwriter. She was born in Los Angeles California in 1943, in the midst of the Second World War and the holocaust, and these events had a lasting effect on her thinking. The time she spent as a child in the High Sierras and along the coast of the Pacific Ocean also shaped her awareness. As she draws connections between the destruction of nature, the diminishment of women and racism, and traces the causes of war to denial in both private and public life, her work moves beyond the boundaries of form and perception. She is known for her innovative style. Her groundbreaking book Woman and Nature: The Roaring inside Her is an extended prose-poem. A Chorus of Stones: the Private Life of War, blends history and memoir as does Wrestling with the Angel of Democracy: On Being an American Citizen her most recent book (published by Trumpeter books in April, 2008.) This work explores the state of mind that engenders and sustains democracy. Susan was also one of the Editors for Transforming Terror: Remembering the Soul of the World released in 2011.
