This edition of Grown Zone Radio focuses on the reasons you are convinced that you don't deserve love. Once you adopt these beliefs (even if, and most likely, unconciously), you sabotage your ability to prepare for, recognize, attract and engage in healthy relationships of honor, esteem and respect. We are taught that we don't deserve love because:
I am divorced. I am unloveable because I am divorced.
I can't bear/don't want children. I am unlovable because I am barren/broken.
I have an STD. I am unloveable because I am ruined/sick.
We accept suffering and mistreatment (or joy and kindness) for the same reason: We are convinced that we deserve them. The truth: There is nothing you can do or be that can disqualify you from healthy love. But until and unless you truly and unconditionally believe that, healthy relationships will elude you, no matter how desperately you seek and pursue them.
You really need to tune in to this edition of Grown Zone Radio. Join us to learn why our book Loving In The Grown Zone is not your typical relationship book about finding the love of your life (or just getting a steady sex partner), but about making healthy choices empower you to claim the love you were created for.

[All] praise is [due] to Allah , who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance.[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward,In which they will remain forever And to warn those who say, " Allah has taken a son."They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie. Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow. ndeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren ground.Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder?ention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance." Quran 18:1-10
" God's word says, "How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:1-3
Victor G. Sholar, Senior Pastor of Main Street Baptist Church in Lexington, KY is our guest speaker today. He will be speaking on the "Seven Marks of Christian Maturity".

Fruitful Growth in the Faith
5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We have seen that there are seasons where God's plan for the battle is defeat. We have seen that God doesn't need us to secure the victory; He is God all by Himself. But today, we will learn that, even after defeat, after the dry and barren seasons, the Lord will return to the repentant, weary heart. THERE CAN BE VICTORY, even after seasons of defeat.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 says; "To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven." One of the things I have noticed about God over the years is that he is a God of economy and he often masterminds blessings and answers in a way that affects multiple people and situations. He may wait to answer a prayer so that when the answer comes it is even better and more influential than what was originally asked.
An example from scripture was when Hannah, who was barren, prayed for a son. She received her answer - though delayed, when God gave her Samuel, but the timing was such that Israel also received a great Prophet and a man who transitioned the country from being governed by Judges to Kings.
When we are in the prayer arena we also have to consider God's sovereignty which means his absolute and supreme authority to do whatever he chooses, whenever he chooses to do it. For instance, God created the heavens and the earth by his own sovereignty; no one prayed that he would do so because no one existed. Certain things are set by God's own authority. The timing of the coming of Jesus to the earth was set by God. The scripture says he came; "in the fullness of time." (Galatians 4:4) No one could have changed that and no one can change the timing of the Second Coming of Christ. It will happen right on schedule. Join us for live prayer at 6:00 AM, Mon.-Fri. Dial 8714.459.3963.
