On tonight's episode we'll discuss today's race, a day late, from the Daytona International Speedway; the Coke Zero 283, it became because of rain.
Aric Almirola, from Richard Petty Motorsports puts the number 43 car in victory lane for the first time since 1999 with a win today in Daytona. First time a Richard Petty owned car went to the winner's circle in Daytona since 1981.
It was rained shortened. Almirola wins his first career race, and puts himself in contention for the 2014 chase for the Sprint Cup. Is he worthy? Because the race is rain shortened, does it take something away from Almirola? Does he have a shot at this championship?
We'll discuss the race. Two major accidents, one early, and one later took out about 32 cars out of contention for the win. We'll talk about what we thought about the racing, and if we thought it was exciting.

Some say he's a serial killer. Others, a vigilante doing what police can't or won't do. What's certain is that Dean Drayhart, a paraplegic, will soon sit on death row for killing hit-and-run drivers in Los Angeles. But not if the Mexican Mafia gets hold of him first. Somewhere, Dean's trained companion monkey Sid and girlfriend Cinda are outrunning the law in a fast '98 Trans Am. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department wants Sid, dead or alive. Dean may be broken in body but his fierce spirit is determined to protect Sid and Cinda in the most creative ways imaginable. Hardboiled, funny, relentless, and unexpectedly tender-hearted, Bite Harder delivers riotous action all the way to a bombshell climax that could only have been written by Anonymous-9, the self-declared mad scientist of crime fiction.
Praise for Bite Harder
"Brilliantly, brutally funny, so real you can taste it. Starring Sid, the cutest serial-killing helper monkey in all fiction." — Douglas Lindsay, author of the Barney Thomson novels
"Bite Harder is part screwball comedy, part killer crime story entirely unlike anything else out there. It is unique and vicious and bloody funny but what kept me turning pages deep into the night was its heart. I loved Hard Bite, and Bite Harder is even better, stronger, wilder." — Josh Stallings, Beautiful, Naked & Dead
"Few books have a killer monkey, and fewer still have a writer as funny, incisive, and down-and-dirty brilliant as Anonymous-9." — Benjamin Whitmer, Cry Father
Fran Lewis and the World of Ink would like to welcome Tom Saywer the head writer of Murder She Wrote to talk about his career, working on the show and his latest five star release: Cross Purposes where we meet Private Investigator Barney Moon and a cast of characters you just won't forget.
Manhattan Private Investigator Barney Moon can hack, charm or con his way into or out of damned-near anything. Barney is driven - to solve cases, nail bad guys, and to anyplace not reachable via the NY Subway.
Barney never learned to drive. And, like most born/bred New Yorkers, he regards pretty much anywhere else as "Out-of-Town."But there is one place for which he has a particular, lifelong aversion: Los Angeles, California (which he thinks of as an Alien Planet). And - guess where he finds himself stranded?
In CROSS PURPOSES, a case takes the reluctant Barney and his driver, Al Drobowsky to Los Angeles to obtain a single fingerprint. Things quickly get complicated. That night, of what by then seems sure to be only two in Tinseltown, Al learns he must immediately return to Brooklyn.
Steve Shukis: POISONED: Arsenic is a metallic element that forms a number of poisonous compounds. Arsenic is found in nature. It can be found in compounds with oxygen, chorine and sulfur. These types of compounds are called inorganic arsenic compounds. When arsenic is in plants and animals it combines with carbon and hydrogen. This is noted as organic arsenic and is usually not as harmful as inorganic. The scary part is that most of these compounds have no smell or special taste. Some are used to preserve wood and others are used to make insecticides and weed killers. Imagine learning that the Food and Drug Administration released early results of an investigation of arsenic levels in rice.Herman Billik was said to be a Bohemian fortuneteller and quite familiar with arsenic and arsenic poisoning. Listen to the evidence: Innocent or guilty
On tonight's show we talk about the notable absence of "road ringers." Clayton and Brandon discuss why Ron Fellows and other road ringers aren't down this week, and is this something that we're going to see less and less, and are the "road ringers" done?
This week in NASCAR history, June 9, 1991, Ricky Rudd vs. Davey Allison at Sonoma, where Rudd gets the win taken away from him. We'll discuss if NASCAR had the right to do this, and bring back some of the fire that Ricky Rudd fans still have 23 years later. Rudd's crew chief Waddell Wilson was extremely upset. NASCAR made an extremely rare decision, but not in taking the win away... we'll discuss it.
Marcos Ambrose's contract situation has been a hot topic lately. He had a press conference today, and said some pretty interesting things. We'll talk about what we think these quotes mean, and who will actually be driving the number 9 car in 2015.
Some sad news, and some good news as well involving some racecar drivers. We'll give Ray Fox his due justice, as well as tell you how good it feels to see that Michael Schumacher is out of his coma.
We're back on patrol, this time covering CHiPs, Highway Patrol, Blue Bloods, Hill Street Blues, Barney Miller, and more.
We'll also cover the news that is rocking Indianapolis, and that is a CBS Affiliate change over starting in 2015.
