The 411: Conflict Transformation™ Hosted by Dr. Imani Michelle Scott
This Sunday, at 8:30 p.m. CST, we talk about the Boston Mafia with former wiseguy turned author, Mark Silverman !! Also joining the show at 9:15 p.m. CST will be The Bogart Jones Band !! Talking Sh*t & Hurting Feelings !! We do it again this Sunday night at 8 p.m. CST / 9 p.m. EST!!
Mark Silverman, is a Former Winter Hill Gangster and Boston Mafia member that was rising through the ranks of the Irish Winter Hill Gang while being recruited by both warring factions of the Patriarca family. His account is the first-ever inside glimpse into what went on at the street level, why people were killed, and what the stakes were.
Silverman grew up in the shadow of Raymond Patriarca and James (Whitey) Bulger, bosses of Boston’s most infamous crime families. With a Jewish last name, his opportunities should have been limited in Boston’s Irish/Italian underworld, but he moved up quickly, gaining acceptance across the board. His book ROGUE MOBSTER is a firsthand account of the violent Boston mob wars of the 1990s, when bodies were piling up across New England and Mark Silverman was walking a tightrope between Winter Hill and the Mafia.
The Bogart Jones Band creates handcrafted, no boundaries, stories and music. A family of brothers from different mothers with diverse musical backgrounds, making "New Music with an Old Soul". The Band will be starting the year opening up for Legendary Southern Rockers, 38 Special, in February! Wes Simmons, Ryan Rose & Tim Fiers had been working with legendary REO Speedwagon guitarist, Gary Richrath until his unfortunate and untimely passing in 2015. The musical love and spark continues on through The Bogart Jones Band! The group is now completed with the talent & musical influences of Don Mabus on Guitar and vocals, Ty Bailey on Percussion and Curt Caudill on keys.

Wilfahrt was born in New Ulm, Minnesota and got his start playing the concertina at local gatherings and concerts in and around his community. In the 1920s Whoopee John and his band relocated to Saint Paul, Minnesota where they became regulars at live shows and on the radio. Wilfahrt first began recording commercially in the 1920s and would sign with the newly formed U.S. division of Decca Records in 1934 as the label's second act. (The first act signed to the label being Bing Crosby.) "Whoopee John Wilfahrt and his band enjoyed popularity through the 1940s and 50s on the polka circuit. Peter Beckett, the triple threat singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the rock band Player, which scored a U.S. #1 hit with “Baby Come Back” and fellow band member and former star of daytime television’s soap THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL as Ridge Forrester, Ronn Moss join Halli at her table Wednesday, January 6, 3 pm ET on The Halli Casser-Jayne Show.
Born in the Aigburth district of Liverpool, England, Beckett was greatly influenced by seeing the Beatles perform at the famous Cavern Club. At 16, he recorded his first record, “All Night Stand”, with a band called The Thoughts. He moved on to play with other groups before relocating to Los Angeles, ultimately teaming with JC Crowley, Ronn Moss (The Bold and the Beautiful’s chisel-jawed Ridge Forrester), and John Friesen in 1976 to form Player. And that’s just the beginning. He would go on to write for such notable artists as Janet Jackson, Olivia Newton-John, The Temptations and Kenny Rogers as well as for films and television during the 1980s. He joined up with Little River Band in 1989 and toured with them for over eight years.
Ronn Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles. He grew up surrounded by the theatre, concert, and rock & roll music world. At age 11, he started learning to play the drums, guitar and electric bass. In 1976, he joined PLAYER primarily as bassist and singer. In 1987, Moss was offered the role of “Ridge Forrester” on the then new soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful. He accepted the part, which he played for 25 years, winning fans worldwide.
Now the babies have come back to their roots — Peter Beckett and Ronn Moss on the road again with Player. They stop by The Halli Casser-Jayne Show, Wednesday, January 5, 3 pm ET for a little reminiscing. For more information visit Halli Casser-Jayne dot com.
