GJU: Mama Pearl Wright - The Provisional Government – Republic of New Africa

    in Current Events

This broadcast MAMA PEARL WRIGHT - NATIONAL MINISTER OF YOUTH FOR THE PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF NEW AFRIKA

The Office of Minister Of Youth {MOY) of PG-RNA Aim is to safe-guard and Nurture Our Youth, Our Own Babies Positive Progression & Growth into a New Afrikan Consciousness - Our Fountain Of Youth - - - it Is Our Time for Self-Determination and Self-Government

The Provisional Government – Republic of New Africa (PG-RNA) was founded with a Declaration of Independence issued in Detroit on March 31, 1968.

Inspired by the Malcolm X Society, the Provisional Government's purpose has been to complete the work of revolutionaries like Gabriel Prosser, Denmark Vesey, Osborne Perry Anderson, Tunis Campbell, Edwin McCabe, El Hajj El Malik Shabazz (Malcolm X), and Queen Mother Moore, by establishing a politically independent New Afrikan country (with full state power) in North America.

" The Struggle for Independence And Reparations From The United States"; One important reason that many New Afrikans still work for an independent Black state is economic: it has to do with jobs for our people and meaningful careers, the economic power to develop industry, science and world trade - to stand on our feet as a nation-state with the respect of the world – a respect now lacking."

Free Ya Mind Radio Present Domestic Violence & The African American Community

    in Culture

Family it's time to turn up our community talk and actions. We have a big problem in our balck community and it's call domestic violence. Did you know that according the statistics domestic violence is reported to be the highest in the black community? Intimate partner violence (IPV) as a major public health issue for women, in particular, African American women. The intersection of IPV and institutional racism doubly victimizes African American women as they try to break out of the cycle of violence. The research shows that IPV in the African American community is more common and violent than in the Caucasian community due to structural, cultural community, and situational contexts, overshadowed by institutional racism, that effect the romantic relationships of African American men and women. Research shows that the anger, hatred, and frustrations of African American men, caused by institutional racism, are being displaced onto their wives and lovers. THIS BROADCAST WILL BE HOSTED BY SISTA TRIA & BROTHA SUN RE9

"The Black Loggers of Wallowa County, Oregon" with Pearl Alice Marsh, Ph.D.

    in History

"THE BLACK LOGGERS OF WALLOWA COUNTY, OR"

In 1923, the Bowman-Hicks Lumber Company of Missouri built Maxville, a logging camp in Wallowa County, Oregon and brought 40-60 African American loggers as part of the labor pool.  This project uses genealogy research methods to reconstruct the social history of these workers.

Dr. Pearl Alice Marsh (Ph.D.) is a retired foreign policy expert and now spends all of her time doing genealogy and historical community research.  She currently is working on her father's memoir and assisting other descendants of the original loggers to find their roots.  She is an active member of the Wallowa (Oregon) Historical Society and the African American Genealogical Society of Northern California.

Pearl Jam Ten - Discussing the Emotions Drawn from a Grunge Masterpiece

    in Music

Pearl Jam Ten was one of the best selling and critically aclaimed album of the early 90's "grunge" era. Although some argue not as influencial as Nirvana's Nevermind, in my view, Ten appealed to a larger cross section of music lovers. It had a punk attitude, but also blazing guitar solos and iconic choruses.

I'll discuss my views on this album, and how they evolved over time, to present day.

Front to back, this album has no weak tracks. Here we go.
