HAVE YOU, LIKE THE SALT LOST YOUR SALTINESS?

    in Spirituality

    Matthew 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. Saints, we are representatives of God, when we receive Him as our savior. We are no longer our own, but we have been bought with a price. 1 Corinthians 6: 19-20. So when we backslide or live on the fence, lukewarm, we lose the God influence, confidence, that other saw in us, and may never be able to win that soul to God. Mark 9:50
"Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other."
We can become salty again by repenting and receiving God back into our lives. God is married to the backslider.  There is no divorce in the Lord.

Keep your SPIRIT SALTY AND SEASONED, TASTEFUL, so that you represent our father well and others will want what you have. Stay focused, meditating on God's word and prayerful.

Stepping Out of the Straight and Narrow Way and Getting Into Trouble, Part 3

    in Christianity

(Pilgrim's Progress According to the Bible #40)

    TEXT: James 1:12-16

Temptation, sin, and the consequences of sin are a recurring theme in life. Just looking back over the past few weeks, how many instances can you recall that have been brought to light in the media because of sins that somebody committed and thought they got away with? The FIFA corruption scandal, the former U.S. house speaker, Dennis Hastert scandal, the Josh Duggar scandal, just to name a few. All of these situations came about because of temptation that led to sin and that is now leading to consequences or death - death to a cushy job, death to a reputation of integrity, or death to a popular show.

In our message last week, we talked about these consequences. The Bible says that “Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust [his fleshly desires], and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Sin is viewed as an active force; once it is released in your life, it will wreak havoc especially if it is not confessed and dealt with swiftly. We see the effects of sin being played out in our own lives and in the world around us on a daily basis. If you are a Christian, continued sin will eventually cause you to stray from the straight and narrow path and backslide in your faith. Thank God that by His mercy and grace we cannot lose our salvation. However, we will be sorely ineffective in our Christian walk, and that is a major reason why we ought to resist giving in to the lust of the flesh.

    The Prayer Motivator Minute #608

    in Christianity

Charles Spurgeon said: "It is well said that neglected prayer is the birth-place of all evil."

Our prayer motivator passage from the Word of God today is Nehemiah 1:11 which says: “O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer."

Our prayer motivator quote today is from Andrew Murray. He said: "Many Christians backslide. They are unable to stand against the temptations of the world, or of their old nature. They strive to do their best to fight against sin, and to serve God, but they have no strength. They have never really grasped the secret: The Lord Jesus will every day from heaven continue His work in me. But on one condition—the soul must give Him time each day to impart His love and his grace. Time alone with the Lord Jesus each day is the indispensable condition of growth and power."

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Certified Life Coach Cynthia Miller

    in Motivation

San Luis Obispo, CA -- Certified Life Coach Cynthia Miller has been on a personal growth journey her entire adult life. Today she works with individuals in the areas of divorce recovery, post-weight loss and entrepreneurial endeavors. In addition, she is starting an exciting new endeavor: working with curvy women as they find their confidence and style.

“I have really been a coach my whole life,” says Cynthia. “People have always come to me for insight and I’ve always seemed to be able to reveal to them those ideas they hadn’t thought about before. In living my new life I’m showing my clients that they can create a new life as well."

The wonderful difference between coaching and counseling is that, in coaching, the client determines the agenda and the action steps toward growth. Cynthia is simply there to hold her clients accountable while unpacking their self-limiting beliefs. Cynthia herself struggled with body image for many years, eventually electing to undergo a gastric bypass procedure 15 years ago.

“Eating is emotional,” explains Cynthia. “Those dynamics don’t go away just because your stomach has been shrunk. So we have to sneak through the back door with self-love. We will backslide but that self-love will keep us moving forward.”

You know the curvy woman who is overly concerned with what others think of her? With Cynthia they will find not only their courage and confidence but also their sense of style and personal beauty so they can create an image that attracts great things into their life.

“Coaching is about inner transformation. With each small decision I was able to create a life I never would have allowed myself to dream,” says Cynthia. “I want my clients to believe that they are enough right now and have dreams to be better.”

Prayer Power Principle #5: Pray Everyday!

    in Christianity

To fully enjoy the power and wonder of prayer, prayer must be something that you do all the time, not just sometimes.

A wise man once said: Successful people do all the time what unsuccessful people only do sometimes. So, to succeed in prayer you must pray every day, not just on some days. The more you pray, the better you’d be at it because practice makes perfect!

When you pray everyday, you will be empowered to walk with your Heavenly Father more closely and faithfully. You will not stray away from God or backslide in your faith. But when a Christian stops praying every day, he will become spiritually weak. This is why it has been said 7 days without prayer makes one WEAK!
