Paul Harrop, Videojournalist for AOPA on Aviation and Storytelling

    in Entertainment

Paul Harrop, Producer/Videojournalist for AOPA Live. Today, Paul, Video-journalist for the largest aviation organization in the world, AOPA. Paul shares his passion for story telling and aviation.

The Oklahoma native comes from a long line of pilots. His father, grandfather and an uncle were all pilots. He grew up fascinated with two things: Aviation and Storytelling.

After graduating from the Kravis Broadcast Institute, Paul began his television career at a production company in Oklahoma City as a project manager. From there, the news bug bit, and he became a freelance field producer and photojournalist. Working with the cable networks, the big stories took him all over the place; from wildfires on the Great Plains to Hurricane Katrina and even the Michael Jackson trial.

In 2006 he made the jump into local news at KSWO 7 News in Lawton, OK before spending nearly three years at KOCO Eyewitness News 5 in Oklahoma City covering breaking news and severe weather. While there he took part in projects that earned a Peabody Award in 2008, an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2009 and an Emmy Award in 2010.

Paul served for several years at KAUZ Newschannel 6 in Wichita Falls, TX. He started as the Morning Co-Anchor and was bumped up to the role of evening Reporter. His powerful brand of visual storytelling and watchdog reporting earned the trust of Texas. Something Paul will always be proud of.

He is also an award-winning storm chaser, and has been an FCC-licensed Ham Radio operator (call sign WX5USA) since 1999. Paul is currently working towards becoming a pilot.  http://www.AOPA.org/ThisWeek

Bob Jones of ATP's Ask Bob - The importance of Personality in Aviation Marketing

    in Business

Everyone enjoys working with people they feel they know.  Bob Jones makes ATP customers feel like “insiders” by letting them in on some of the personality and internal fun at ATP.

Topics we cover in this conversation:

    How “interesting” trumps “professional”
How to let customers in on the crazy things that happen in any office.
How to get great blog ideas – (hint – it’s easier than you think)
Aviation people ARE into social media, we discuss which ones they interact on the most
How to get your company involved with blogging and social media, and to coordinate the efforts of a team (or teams, if you count marketing, sales & tech folks) without squashing spontaneity.
How aviation people tend to be “hot” or “cold” on social media, few are “lukewarm” – How to deal with both extremes and keep communications open.

Bob Jones has been with ATP for 16 years. He is a Product Marketing Specialist for ATP and Managing Editor of AskBob.aero

Prior to joining ATP Bob owned a FBO in Livermore CA with 141, 145 and 135 certificates

Trucking Open Forum- Blocking Fair Wages for Truckers

    in Current Events

Just as the Denham Amendment attempted, but failed, to prevent Fair wages for truckers in last years Highway Bill known as the FAST ACT, once again the large motor carriers (ATA) have managed to slip in the same exact provision into H.R. 4441, the Aviation Innovation, Reform, and Reauthorization Act, otherwise known as the FAA Reauthorization Bill.

The Act was introduced by the House of Representatives. The “AIRR” Act as it is called, is a bill designed to authorize aviation programs, but on pp 256-258, Title VI, Sec 611, labeled Federal Authority, the attack on driver wages was slipped in by these members of the U.S House of Transportation Committee.

Listen to our last show explaining the dangers of the Denham Amendment and read more via OOIDA's Fighting for Truckers page.

We believe this attack on wages exploits new CDL drivers. Attorney Christina Humphrey is our guest who will discuss Section A and B of the provisions within the FAA Reauthorization Bill.

Today we have court of protection updates and Gemma discusses options for ex services personel when they leave the military join forces join the people to the service needed.

Freedom Talk Radio is dedicated to bringing you the news, opinions and the truth that you will not get from other sources.

Ex Pilot Mr Lenoard Lawrence  Poisoned Air Pilot    https://lenlawrence.wordpress.com/

Len was held captive in the United Kingdom by the Official Solicitor to the High Court for almost eighteen months and medicated to the extent that he was incapable of legal discussion and understanding. During which time most of his assets were disposed of, by Solicitors and Barristers, whilst generating revenue for themselves, all without Len’s knowledge and consent.

Finally, without the knowledge of the Official Solicitor, the British Airline Pilots Association directed Len to Professor Gordon Turnbull, FRCP FRCPsych (Psychiatric adviser to the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority) who reviewed the evidence, stopped all medication and Len was referred to Neurologists for brain damage assessment. Thereafter Len received specialist toxicology treatment for poisoning by Organophosphates with additional support from the Royal British Legion, SAFFA and the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust.
