Can Aston Villa nab a win over Arsenal at the transfer deadline?

    in Soccer

Jack and Robert are back after an Aston Villa w... wi... win? Is that how you spell it? It's their second in the month of January, but this weekend sees the club try to get back on track in the Premier League, where they haven't won since December 7. Unfortunately, the challenge will be stiff, as Villa travel to the Emirates to take on Arsenal, who currently sit in fifth.

We'll have a recap of the FA Cup victory (with 2 [two!] goals!), and a look at what Villa might do as the transfer windowcloses. We'll also be welcoming on Zito Madu to talk about the Arsenal match. Zito is one of the best football writers around, and he plies his trade on The Short Fuse as well as on SB Nation (where he writes about more than just football).

Can Carles Gil help Aston Villa beat Liverpool?

    in Soccer

Jack and Robert are back this week! Wait, no. Jack is busy doing important things, so Robert is back this week! But to prevent you from having to hear me drone on by myself for a while, we've brought in our very own Adam Clark to make his first Holtecast appearance. And what a time to join!

We've got a recap of the dreadful Leicester City match, a look at Aston Villa's limited action in the transfer window, some talk of new boy Carles Gil, the big protest planned [takes a huge breath] AND of course the Liverpool match set for this weekend. We ALSO end up taking some listener questions

“Talented and stunning,” says it all when it comes to describing recording artist Ava Aston. With her uniquely crystalline vocal quality, Ava draws from her pop and rock influences, to create a sound all her own.

A recording artist, songwriter and actress Ava is consistently driven to achieve her goals, whether it be taking the stage, appearing in films, or in national commercials. She is also flexing her writing abilities by using her blossoming musical career as the backdrop for her successful blog, Ava Aston’s Muckery and for an animated series called, Ava the Diva.

Born & raised in Upstate NY, Ava has been singing ever since she could talk. Her shining achievements include performing at the White House, winning multiple songwriting contests, having her songs placed in independent film soundtracks, and performing the national anthem at more than 100 professional sporting events from coast to coast.

Ava’s music and Greek blonde bombshell image have saturated the internet where her fans have driven her music and videos to impressive numbers, and her MySpace to more than one million views. Musical styles and fads may come and go, but one thing remains true, Ava’s love to sing. She lives to create and perform music that makes you feel something, music that makes you smile.
