He realizes that while he achieved everything he’d ever set out to do, the regret over what he’d sacrificed for success weighs heavily on his heart. Meet author Mary A. Perez. She'll be stopping by the Author Chat Show to 'chat' with me about her book, Running in Heels: A Memoir of Grit & Grace, as part of her WNL book tour.

    About the author:

More than a memoir—this book is a promise of hope for anyone who was abandoned as a child, to anyone who woke up hungry and went to bed hungrier every day, for every wife who has loved a husband who left bruises on her heart and on her body.
Somewhere between stealing cold cuts from stray cats and watching a stranger leave her mother’s bed after breaking in through their bedroom window, Mary figured out that her family was dirt poor. Worse than her empty stomach, she was hungry for acceptance and love. She thought she found it when her baby sister was born and she became her “mommy”, taking care of her needs as best she could at the age of seven. Then she had to say goodbye over a small white casket.

    About the book:

Running in Heels is a memoir of the grit and grace that carried a young girl through the shadows of her mother’s choices and on through an abusive marriage. Mary A. Pérez narrates an incredible story of survival in the face of hopelessness, and learning to forgive against all odds. A story of coming of age, and coming into grace.

My first guest on Saturday's show is author Nikkyea Williams. Nikkyea will be chatting with me about her book, Prison Break: A Couple's Journey Into Righteousness and Beyond the Prison Walls.

    About the book:

This book is a witness that God can use anyone in any position to be a help to another person. The person you are counting out could very well be the one chosen to help get you to your next level! So let's walk in Matthew 7. Do not judge others, no matter what the situation. You are no better than the next person. We are all God's creation.

    About the author:

Nikkyea Williams is a Paralegal who is now furthering her education to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies. She Loves God and has just been blessed with the gift of writing. She has written a lot of poetry, done spoken word pieces and things of that sort but never thought that she would be using her gift and sharing her life stories with the world.

In my second hour, I'll be chatting with author Anthony Mayfield about his book, Neon Nights

    About the book:

There are angels and there are angels. But you’ve never seen an angel like this before. Any angel wrapped in flesh is like superman with a kryptonite cloak on: tired, weak, frail, and nothing more than an ordinary man, but Johnny Angel defies the definition of ordinary.

    About the author:

Over the years, I have written poems, plays, scripts, columns, articles, and an Internet Soap Opera called Chocolate Kisses that I wrote for a website called Netnoir.   In short, I enjoy creative writing.  God has given me many stories to tell and I hope and pray that I get the opportunity to do just that

To date, he has written fifteen novels falling mostly into the young adult, fantasy genre; but he has delved into suspense, crime drama, and post-apocalyptic categories as well.
