This week Dr Pauline and Catherine have the pleasure of talking with Austin Shepard and his mom Shelly. Austin had a traumatic brain injury in 2003 (at age 10). Even after being in a lengthy coma and having one hospital discharge him because they felt they couldn't do any more for him, his parents didn't give up hope. There's more to the story...listen in to hear about it! Since then, he has gone on to become an Eagle Scout, and launch a company called You Inspire Me! Speaker's Bureau. He has also become a Mosaic Ambassador for the Small Business Development Center. His vision for his company is to change the world by inspiring one person at a time and encouraging them to do the same. Please visit Austin's website at www.bumponthehead.com to see what amazing things he's been doing and how you can help, and e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org if you or someone you know has a story to share. As always, we welcome your comments and questions through Facebook (Dunamas Center Ministries), and Twitter (@YourDunamasLife).

Last week, the Guardian published an explosive report describing what some are calling a 'black site' used by Chicago police right here in the United States. Is this an exaggeration or are people truly 'disappeared' using gestapo-like tactics?
Also covered in this report:
-FCC votes to give birth to the 'Department of the Internet'
-Obama is using executive order to push the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives to BAN 5.56 rounds commonly used in the AR15 rifle.
-Laugh of the day: John Boehner makes kissing sounds at a reporter asking questions in a press conference.

Who is the ultimate authority in a child's life - the parents or the State? When Dorothy Austin, mother of two sons, was falsely accused of having a psychological illness, she found herself in a seven year battle with the State of Illinois over custody of her son Shamir, then an eight year old child. Deprived of his mother after seven years, Shamir, now a 15 year old teenager, is desperate to come home. But the State simply will not let him go. Today, Dorothy Austin is fighting back. She has joined forces with supporters and other parents and launched a national organization: PROTECT, which stands for Parental Rights Organization To End Children's Tears. This organization was founded to raise money for legal fees for parents whose parental rights were wrongfully terminated, and to investigate and expose those attorneys, judges, and social service agency officials who knowingly make decisions that destructively tear families apart. Today, Ms. Austin discusses her fundraising efforts to enable her to hire the competent attorney who will help get her son Shamir back, and pursue punitive damages against those responsible for him being held hostage by the State for seven years. Her organization PROTECT will provide support for other parents in similar situations. Jerry Nicholas, father of six, shares his story of a 20 year battle for his parental rights. He exposes the economic incentive that makes State agencies become destroyers of children and families.
