Prophecy News; Why Studying Bible Prophecy is So Important, Part 5 (TPDR #397)

    in Religion

PROPHECY HEADLINES: Vein-scanning already being used for authentication at ATMs | N. Korea builds 2 new warships | Israel says it won't give control of holy sites to Vatican | Hagel re-affirms U.S. committment to not allowing Iran to get nuclear weapons | 3 earthquakes around the world.

PROPHECY BOOTCAMP: “Why Studying Bible Prophecy is So Important (Part 5)” from Dr. Tim LaHaye

Fulfilled Prophecy Credentials Jesus as the Messiah

There are many ways to prove the deity of Jesus Christ. Of the 13 billion people who have lived since the beginning of recorded history, Jesus stands head and shoulders above everyone else as the most influential person of all time. No one before or since has had as much impact on the arts, music, education, and humanitarianism as Jesus Christ. He did more to elevate the status of women than anyone else. He performed incredible miracles unequaled by anyone else in history. No one has ever affected this world like Jesus Christ. And He did it all in three-and-a-half years of ministry. This puts Him in a category all by Himself.

Fulfilled messianic prophecy stands like a mountain of truth that cannot be explained away or denied. Scholars have identified at least 109 messianic prophecies in the Old Testament, and Jesus fulfilled them all. All of these prophecies were written at least 400 years before He came to earth, some as early as 1,200 years prior to His appearance. The odds are astronomical that someone could fulfill 8 or 9 of these prophecies, yet Jesus fulfilled them all. Jesus also gave Himself as the supreme sacrifice for sin by dying on the cross and then rising from the dead in fulfillment of prophecy, just as He promised He would. His resurrection stands as a fact of history shown by "many infallible proofs."

Bubbas Bookshelf is a weekly book discussion show,  that attempts to wade though the massive amount of information published in categories from Back-to basics to the Zombie Apocalypse. This week: Have you every wondered what it would be like to survive an economic collapse? Well the Bubba Bookshelf is proud to have as This weeks guest Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre, Author of the book "Surviving The Economic Collapse", and owner of the blog "Surviving in Argentina". This is a man who has experienced what a lot of us fear. Surviving the collapse of ones country with your family! A few words from Fernando: My name is Fernando Aguirre and I´ve been writing about survival and preparedness from the financial crisis perspective since the economy collapsed in my country, Argentina, in 2001. Long story short after a period of huge debt, 25% unemployment and social instability during 2001 our country defaulted on its national debt, 132 billion, the largest default in known history. Soon after banks closed their doors to avoid a bank run and kept people´s money, cash ran out of ATMs fast, rioting and looting became widespread across the country. A few days later out currency devaluated losing 75% of its purchasing value. In spite of current positive news about the Argentine economy (mostly thanks to the government now controlling the media by law) the simple truth is that we are the top 3 country in terms of inflation, right after Congo and Venezuela. What appeals to many Americans is that we´re ahead of what many people think will eventually happen in USA. While I tend to be cautious and dont believe the US economy will fully collapse like ours did, there´s still countless similarities and lessons to be learned through our experience.
