Laura Ashley is a brand new charming sensation that promises a powerhouse in country music. There is nothing fake about this 20-year-old country girl who is full of life, passion, and a hankering for adventure.
The music scene began early for this dirty-blonde spitfire. As a small fry, Laura would often scurry off to the horses to sing them a tune or two. The great outdoors was her everyday stage.
Though Laura has devoted many years to classical vocal training, her true sass and joy comes out best when she’s belting it with a twang. A two time All-Stater in voice, Laura sings in church and at weddings. She recently decided to follow her dream of performing and writing country music. Music is part of her daily life whether practicing, performing, or writing she pushes on to go farther.
Though Laura is just beginning, she has already been blessed to sing backstage with artists Randy Houser, Thomas Rhett, Lauren Alaina, and Phil Vassar. Laura’s love for country music runs deep. With her love for wide open spaces and her remarkable little red horse, Lil' Bit, Laura is a true cowgirl. Heck, she's even ridden her horse to work on several occasions! With her authentic country background, anyone can see that her music is real!
So if you’re ever in their hometown you just might see Laura Ashley and her horse galloping across green fields with a sense of fierce freedom trailing behind them in the wind. And if you’re quiet you might hear a country song echoing off the golden Ozark hills. Laura has tucked her country voice inside all her life... until now. There’s a promising future for this cowgirl with big vocals and her little red horse!

Gary LeBlanc is an author, caregiver and world-changer. His weekly column, "Common Sense Caregiving" is published by the Tampa Tribune and Hernando Today, as well as dozens of other publications. LeBlanc created the Alzheimer's/Dementia Hospital Wristband Project in 2013, aimed at smoother hospital stays. Now, he's co-founded Dementia Mentors to magnify understanding, dignity, and hope. Through mentoring, videos, virtual cafe meetings, brain storming session and more, LeBlanc provides a look into what goes through the mind of someone diagnosed with a form of dementia.
As the author of Staying Afloat in a Sea of Forgetfulness and co-author of While I Still Can, he encourages caregivers to realize it's not a science; "every patient responds differently ... the journey is trial and error, right up to the very end,” he says. Caring for his Alzheimer's-stricken father, he learned the hardships caregivers endure. Daily journaling soon evolved into a weekly column, and more. Co-owning a father-and-son bookstore with his father served as a catalyst of sorts. First, their closeness helped him recognize his father's struggles sooner than later. Second, his foresight to compile a decade of lessons has created a vessel of hope and help to thousands.
LeBlanc believes some people stop visiting loved ones with Alzheimer's because of a lack of knowledge about how to approach them. As the disease advances, it becomes increasingly difficult to communicate through ordinary methods. He encourages family and friends to “be creative; do whatever it takes to keep them engaged. Whether it's playing cards with them or having a sing-a-long, if you find something that works, stick with it for as long as possible."
Join us for this unprecedented hour with an Alzheimer's expert who has gone above and beyond the call of duty.
On today's show, we will be chatting with Kyla Smith about the Ashley Carroll case.
Carroll was last seen when a friend dropped her off in the area of Quail Street and First Street in Albany, New York on May 6, 2010. She is from Troy, New York and had to Albany to see her boyfriend. They had been arguing through text messaging. Carroll's boyfriend stated he never saw her that day. Her mother, who lives in Rensselaer, New York, reported her missing.
Carroll reportedly planned to travel to New York City with a friend after she met with her boyfriend, and then return May 9, but there's no indication she ever arrived there. Authorities don't believe she ever made it back to her apartment in Troy, because all of her clothing and jewelry was left there, and she would have taken those things with her. She didn't have a car at the time of her disappearance and depended on others for transportation. Carroll hasn't used her cellular phone since her disappearance; it was last tracked to a location near a friend's home on Marlborough Court in Albany. Her family doesn't believe she would have abandoned her one-year-old daughter.
Both Albany and Rensselaer police are investigating Carroll's disappearance. She is considered to be missing under suspicious circumstances.

My name is Ashley Nicole, I’m a full-time contributing writer for the site Blacksportsonline. I’m a young, successful sports journalist living in New York who has been blessed enough to tie her two biggest passions: sports and pop-culture, into one fearless, fun and entertaining website.
My sports love affair came to me at the ripe old age of 19, during a traumatic time in my life when sports became my only refuge. One day, I got inspired to write my myriad of bold sports opinions for the masses to see, and it became my first website, I went under the pseudonym ‘girl loves sports’ and from there a career was born.

With a love of all things country infused in her bones, Ashley Barron is giving country music a generous dose of her signature, adventurous spirit.
A true American, Barron is the face of authentic country music. A patriotic, God-loving country girl, Barron isn’t afraid to let her true self shine. Whether she is shopping, camping, shooting, or hunting, Barron is all about spontaneity and finding adventure in life anyway she can.
Describing herself as an old soul, Barron is fully attuned to her past and the way it has shaped her life today. A diverse mix of Native American, English, Irish, Norwegian, and German ancestry, Barron is strongly committed to her family. Barron is the youngest of four children, and she’s very grateful for the lessons she has learned from her older siblings. Her family is very close-knit, and no one ever misses the annual houseboat trip on the lake. With their mutual love of the mountains, water, sports, and all things outdoors, it’s no wonder the annual trip is a favorite among family members even after all these years.
God’s latest blessing in Barron’s life is the release of her new single, “It Might Get Loud.” Already making waves on iTunes, listeners are loving her song, calling it “fun and catchy.”
Barron blends all of her life experiences together into her music, bravely giving the world a glimpse into her soul – her down-to-earth, passionate, giving soul.
