I'm excited this Friday we are starting the weekend off with beautiful reggae music all the way from Jamaica. Join me to interview Asante Amen.
As a performer he has graced the stages of some of the more prestigious events in reggae music such as; Rebel Salute (JA), Irie Jamboree (USA), St. Mary Mi Come From (JA) and The Woodstock Reggae Festival (USA) among others. He has performed in the United States of America, the Bahamas, Grenada and all across Jamaica; however this is just the beginning for Asante as he looks forward to his music carrying him to places and venues across the Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Africa. Asante Amen has had the privilege of collaborating on tracks with artists such as Lutan Fyah and Jah Thundah as well as a host of other local and international reggae artists. He has also performed alongside Reggae greats such as Luciano, Tony Rebel, L,U.S.T, Ken Boothe, Queen Ifrica and Beenie Man to name a few. For Asante, music speaks to him in a very special way and so far, by all accounts, his singles releases to date have been well received by reggae fans across the world. In 2011 Asante was in full swing as he enjoyed major rotation across the USA, the Netherlands, mainland Europe and many Isles across the Caribbean for the first half of the year with singles, WIPE YOUR TEARS (Nite Lite Prodns) and BEATING (High Priest Recs). He also enjoyed a one month stay on the KDVS 90.3 FM Reggae/African Top 25 album chart in California, USA at the beginning of the year for the EP release of his debut underground album OVER THE YEARS: The Underground Project.

So as many of our regular listeners know, I was given the opportunity to present at this years ASCAC (Association for the Study of Classical Afrikan Civilizations) Conference. My talk was entitled SPIRITUAL WARFARE: RECLAIMING OUR ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC AFRIKAN SPIRITUALITY BY DETACHING THE AFRIKAN SOUL FROM CHRISTIANITY.
Due to time constraints I was not able to deliver the entire 21 page presentation therefore it was HEAVILY truncated. Tonight, I will give the entire talk. Shortly thereafter, I will take this talk and fuse it with the powerpoint presentation I had & place it on our youtube page, so everyone will have the whole thing & have a nice warehouse of REFERENCED, RESEARCHED information for you, dear listeners, to be able to, as Boukman of the Haitian Revolution told the people of Haiti before they defeated the french, THROW AWAY THE IMAGE OF THE WHITE MAN'S GOD.
I will also share my reflections on the conference as a whole.
This hopefully will be a highly downloaded show.

In the way is the San Francisco 49ers and their new standout stud, Colin Kaepernick. We'll tal
