There has been a lot of buzz and curiosity and debate going on about the Proper Article 5 Strategy, Method and Mechanics of an Amendment Convention. We at Citizen Initiatives have been working diligently to get this important information out to Americans, State Legislators and even State Governors. Everyone needs to figure out and understand for themselves how it works and why. If I can figure it out then so can you!!

Is an article V amendments convention a way for the states to reign in an errant federal government, or is fedgov itself an integrel part of the process?
Even if you favor an Article V Amendments Convention, you should oppose this approach and this proposed amendment. Here is why.....
"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose amendments to this Constitution, or, on the application of the legislatures of two thirds of the several states, shall call a convention for proposing amendments, which, in either case, shall be valid to all intents and purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the legislatures of three fourths of the several states, or by conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other mode of ratification may be proposed by the Congress; provided that no amendment which may be made prior to the year one thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any manner affect the first and fourth clauses in the ninth section of the first article; and that no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal suffrage in the Senate. " Article Five of the United States Constitution describes the process whereby the Constitution may be altered. Altering the Constitution consists of proposing an amendment or amendments and subsequent ratification.."

Clarification; Same Sex Marriage versus Civil Unions, Article Amendment 1 - Freedom of Expression and Religion - Article XIV Amendment 14 - Rights Guaranteed
Special Guest Dr Charles Tolbert, Founder of Citizens for a Better America
This article is being written to explain the rights of citizens in United States of America as written in the U.S. Constitution and the enforcement of Article 1 (Amendment 1) and Article XIV (Amendment 14). It is important that the reader completely understands both articles prior to reading the reasons Ministers and Religion object to the term (SAME SEX MARRIAGES). There are several scriptures which also should be read in order for the reader to conclude when article one has precedence over article 14.
The Equal Protection Clause is part of the Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The clause, which took effect in 1868, provides that no state shall deny to any person within its jurisdiction “the equal protection of the laws”.
A primary motivation for this clause was to validate and perpetuate the equality provisions contained in the Civil Rights Act of 1866, which guaranteed that all people would have rights equal to those of white citizens. As a whole, the Fourteenth Amendment marked a large shift in American constitutionalism, by applying substantially more constitutional restrictions against the states than had applied before the Civil War.
Article XIV (Amendment 14 – Rights Guaranteed: Privileges and Immunities of Citizenship, Due Process, and Equal Protection)
