U.S. worried as Iranian armada sails toward Yemen (Second Coming Watch #619)

    in Current Events

    1. U.S. military officials are concerned that Iran's support for Houthi rebels in Yemen could spark a confrontation with Saudi Arabia and plunge the region into sectarian war.

    2. A suicide bomber struck the U.S. consulate building in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil on Friday afternoon.

    3. Israel said on Saturday that it would transfer $470 million of withheld tax revenues to the Palestinian Authority following talks between a senior Israeli military officer and Palestinian officials.

    4. A senior Hamas official in the Gaza Strip called for the abduction of Israelis, who would be swapped for Palestinians held by the Jewish State.

    5. Recent satellite pictures show that China is rapidly building an airstrip on an artificial island in disputed South China Sea waters, potentially ramping up tensions with several Southeast Asian neighbours.

You can read these stories in more detail and get more prophecy-related news at SecondComingHerald.com.

The prophetic passage of Scripture we are looking at today is Joshua 6:26 which reads: "And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it."

Our second coming quote for today is from John Blanchard. He said: "The certainty of the Second Coming of Christ should touch and tincture every part of our daily behavior."

    Into the Cosmos! Wk 10

    in Soccer

Today on #IntotheCosmos, Hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa review the week that was for the New York Cosmos. After a U.S Open Cup match with Jersey City that resulted in a 3 - 0 win, and a 1 - 1 draw with Minnesota in league play, the boys took to Havana, Cuba in a historic match with the Cuban National Team. The Cosmos came out on top 4 - 1, with four first half goals. Lucky Mkosana found the net twice, with Sebastian Guenzatti and Hagop Chirishian adding tallies for the team.

We will preview the match this weekend with Jacksonville, and get you prepared for the weekend, as well as discuss some news before the US Open Cup match with NYCFC.

4Runner Dale Armstrong, Apostle to Ukraine

    in Lifestyle

    4Runner - General Description:

'4Runner' is the term we use to describe the Biblical concept of how 'church' is done properly.  There are four or five (depending on how you interpret Ephesians 4:11) kinds of ministers the Lord has sent into world and set in the church to provide the training all believers need to grow into His corporate expression.  Today's pastoral oriented religious system devalues this bigger picture.  The result is a Christian world with diminishing impact in a day which requires just the opposite.  Listen to true '5-Fold' ministry voices here and become a forerunner yourself to the Lord's return!

Specific Episode: Dale Armstrong, Apostle to Ukraine - Dale Armstrong is a man with an amazing story.  Listening to it will equip you to be a more purposeful believer, one ready to tackle your God-given assignment in this crucial hour of human history!  Along with his wife Teri, Dale is the founding director of the Armada network, a missions organization of more than 60 churches, pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders.  Having ministered in over 40 nations of the world, Their primary focus is the former Soviet Union, most specifically the Ukraine.  Through his extensive travel Pastor Armstrong has developed a network of relationships that spans that region of the world and is opening new doors into the middle east: specifically Iran and Syria.  Dale currently serves as the International Envoy for the American Pastors Network. Only three years old, they are rapidly growing into an organization of thousands of evangelical churches in the USA who carry the common purpose to speak God’s Word into the public square, specifically addressing current events and legislature, influencing society and civil servants through a Biblical worldview.

Big Publishers: Can the Spanish Armada transform into the British Fleet?

    in Education

Big Publishers: Can the Spanish Armada transform into the British Fleet?

Can big publishers change enough to address how today’s students learn, educator’s teach, and shifting business models associated with both? In the US textbook market we have three very large players. Big publishers have process, coordination, and business accountability issues which are far less of a hindrance to smaller organizations. The result is that larger organizations can’t change quickly. While all publishers are concerned with make quarterly numbers and hitting academic deadlines a large corporate infrastructure while necessary for a large organization limits the ability of that organization to adapt to market demands.

How does the move from print to digital look different for large publishers versus smaller organizations? Schools continue to adopt instructional resources and either ask that the electronic version be included with the print, ask for a class set of print and a digital version for students, or only want the digital version… sometimes only a few chapters! We will discuss how publishers, small and large, can make it through this morass and emerge successfully in a digital first world. We’ll touch on tools and technical standards that can ease this transition.

Take a seat at as guests take a bite out of questions like:

What role are big publishers playing in the future?
What opportunities does this leave for smaller organizations?
Is it sustainable to provide both print and digital assets?
Is it the job of the publisher to lead innovation or to reflect innovation and change?
