Big Publishers: Can the Spanish Armada transform into the British Fleet?
Can big publishers change enough to address how today’s students learn, educator’s teach, and shifting business models associated with both? In the US textbook market we have three very large players. Big publishers have process, coordination, and business accountability issues which are far less of a hindrance to smaller organizations. The result is that larger organizations can’t change quickly. While all publishers are concerned with make quarterly numbers and hitting academic deadlines a large corporate infrastructure while necessary for a large organization limits the ability of that organization to adapt to market demands.
How does the move from print to digital look different for large publishers versus smaller organizations? Schools continue to adopt instructional resources and either ask that the electronic version be included with the print, ask for a class set of print and a digital version for students, or only want the digital version… sometimes only a few chapters! We will discuss how publishers, small and large, can make it through this morass and emerge successfully in a digital first world. We’ll touch on tools and technical standards that can ease this transition.
Take a seat at as guests take a bite out of questions like:
What role are big publishers playing in the future?
What opportunities does this leave for smaller organizations?
Is it sustainable to provide both print and digital assets?
Is it the job of the publisher to lead innovation or to reflect innovation and change?

For many Americans, the word "Airpower" is defined by the exploits of the Eighth Air Force flying from England to bomb targets in Germany and occupied Europe. But there was much more to American airpower during World War II, then just the efforts of, "The Mighty Eighth." One of the more notable contributions to the Allied victory in Europe came from the U.S. Fiftheenth Air Force, based in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. Though smaller than the Eighth, the Fifteenth Air Force was more diverse, and in some ways had a more challenging and varietal target set to prosecute. These ranged from radar stations that had to be destroyed prior to the invasion of the French Riviera in the summer of 1944, to the massive petroleum production facilities at Ploesti in Hungary. The Fifteenth Air Force was also the home to the all-Negro 332nd Fighter Group, the famous "Redtails" which had been trained as an "experiment" at Tuskegee, Alabama. And in spite of having been forgotten by most aviation historians, the men of the Fifteenth Air Force created a combat record as substantial as any other of World War II.
To learn more about the Fifteenth Air Force, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) for Military Monday at 1 p.m. Eastern. His guest this week is well known aviation historian and Regency History Press author Barrett Tillman, whose new book, FORGOTTEN FIFTEENTH, chronicles the men, missions, and story of this little-known aerial armada. Together they will take listeners through a Mediterranean odyssey, combining World War II's most advanced weapons and aircraft, with a region as old as history itself. Listeners are encouraged to call in and offer both questions and opinions, and what should be a most enlightening hour of history for aviation buffs.

SHOW NOTES: In the MYTH WARRIORS™ series we are targeting ideas to begin to assess whether they are credible or not. We are warriors fighting to establish clarity between what is accurate and what is simply a myth (or falsehood) in life. This episode is, “Why The Smartest Thing You Can Say Is ‘I Don’t Know.’”
“I Don’t Know. “
Beautiful in its simplicity. Concise in its meaning. Unambiguous. Powerful. Indicative of intellect and introspection. Underused.
How often are you in communication with someone and they use a word or phrase that you don’t know? All of the time. It happens to me on a daily basis. Let’s imagine that someone was talking to me at work about types of snow skies and I have never been snow skiing, have never read anything specifically about snow-skiing and have no prior interest or knowledge about snow skiing.
What would be the best (in terms of good outcomes for me) way to respond to the following question, “What do you think of the Armada TST?”
Option A: “Yeah, those are great.”
Option B: “I think that that green eggs and ham are awesome.”
Option C: ”I don’t know.”
Option A is a lie (as I don’t know what Armada TST is so I certainly don’t know if it is great or horrible). So, I am a dishonest liar to use this type of response. It also puts me at risk for being asked the dreaded follow-up question, “Why?” I cannot answer that question so it is not a good idea to use this response as my ignorance will be exposed. If I get lucky and there is a thing called Armada TST and it is a snow ski, the pers

you should know its history and there is NOTHING in scripture saying follow church pastor pope to heaven.
The investigation of what Western Christianity is really about continues as the Journey of Columbus and the Spanish Empire is examined along with the infamous “Spanish Armada” of the 1500’s. Dr. Richard Gladiator Johnson revisits the history of Christian Spain and its horrific treatment of the New World populations as greed and guns manifest more than God and Jesus.

The call in number is 347-237-4648 to listen or speak to the Host-Dr. Richard Gladiator Johnson. Gold, Guns and God continue to inspire Christian Europeans to conquer the world via guns/military for profit hiding behind the Bible in the years after Columbus and the Spanish Armada. The Catholic Pope draws a line on a map to stop Catholic Portugal/Spain from going to war (Hint: this is why Brazil speaks Portuguese not Spanish). Catholic Portugal enslaves Africans selling them to Catholic Spain, Christian England and Christian France in the name of God and Profits. The Christian Dutch jump in to get their piece of the pie. Christians fight Christians over territory and they all exterminate destroy the local populations wherever they go.
The name "Enterprise" is one that has a rich legacy and a long tradition in maritime and naval history. In These Are The Voyages, author, Arnold van Beverhoudt, tells the story of more than 75 vessels named "Enterprise." This is a fascinating story that stretches from the very real 16th Century battles of the Spanish Armada to the fictional 26th Century voyages of Gene Roddenberry's starships "Enterprise."
Arnold acquaints us with a French frigate that was captured by the British Royal Navy in 1705 and became the first HMS Enterprise. In 1775, the first American "Enterprise" helped to ward off the British during the Revolutionary War. In the early 1800s, the schooner USS Enterprise and her crew fought valiantly against French privateers, the ruthless Barbary pirates of the Mediterranean, the powerful ships of the Royal Navy, and the crafty pirates of the Caribbean.
The story continues with tales of other vessels named "Enterprise" that explored the frozen Northwest Passage, steamed the seas and rivers of the United States, Canada, Australia, and India for commercial trade, fought valiant battles during World War II, and sailed the oceans of the world for more than 50 years under nuclear power in defense of freedom. But the story of the name "Enterprise" doesn't end there. There were also hydrogen-filled balloons, Goodyear blimps, a NASA space shuttle, and a privately-owned spaceship named "Enterprise." In the fictional world of television and motion pictures, there have also been starships that carried the name "USS Enterprise" into the deepest reaches of space.
In addition to a 130-page narrative history of vessels named Enterprise, These Are The Voyages devotes about 35 pages to appendices.
On June 6th, 1944, the largest armada ever assembled left England for the Normandy coast of France. The Allied invasion of Europe was the greatest feat of arms in human history. It was the beginning of the end of Hitler's "Fortress Europe."
