Word of Mom Radio ~ Sharing the wisdom of women
Ray Bennett of Harrisburg calls himself a lover of "all things New York," so it's no wonder that he absolutely and unapologetically loves the New York Knicks - which, no doubt, will make for a VERY lively discussion on Monday, April 8th at 8pm EST. Bennett will also discuss his upbringing in NY and the sports culture that thrived - and continues to thrive - there.
As always, we will have our weekly updates of various sports topics, courtesy of the First Ladies of Sports: Iman, Juice, LadyJae, Puddin' and Sparkle - co-hosts of "LaFemme Sports Revue."
Join us on Monday, April 8th at 8pm EST when we discuss the topic of sports - from the female perspective, right here on "LaFemme Sports Revue." Dial in: 347-237-4327; listen online; and/or join us in the chat room.
"LaFemme Sports Revue" is produced by J Blair Brown of "Livin' the Dream! with JBlair Brown," a weekly series that promotes the independent film industry and welcomes up-and-coming and noted Hollywood celebs.
May 14: Stephanie Bennett Vogt I am the author of "Your Spacious Self," a uniquely feminine approach to clutter clearing that invites readers to slow down, observe, listen, trust, feel, allow mystery, surrender... remember. It teaches that clearing is not just something you do, but also a powerful way to "be" – one small step, moment, or good laugh at a time. Two of the most creative artists in Jazz, etc. (that EYE know, anyway!) are on the show this Tuesday, May 7th, 2013.
Daniel Bennett starts the fun at one - and he has great news: The Daniel Bennett Group's "Clockhead Goes to Camp" is available for your grateful ears :) Since 2004, Daniel has been turning out music to buy, but he has been playing for a lot longer. A multi-instrumentalis who zeroed in on saxophone at age ten and writes music via guitar, this highly regarded New Yorker wears even MORE hats. Besides leading his intuitive band, he also produces and promotes shows other than his own. He's quite good at being the spokesperson for these events - and it doesn't hurt when he shows up for them - Daniel is quite handsome as well as a talented/progressive musician. Who will not allow boxes to deter his vision. The Boston Herald calls what he does "Exploratory, Folk-Jazz Hybrid." Hah! Why do you think he's on the show?!
DC based Uber Bassist, Michael Bowie, is clearly one of those stunningly capable players that make your jaw drop. Some of the TRULY great in Jazz have thought so: Betty Carter, Abbey Lincoln, Sarah Vaughn - because Michael played for them. By request. He studied under the great Keter Betts, is a National Endowment For Jazz Studies Award Winner, and has created "organic" (he loves that word!) repercussions from this region to international circles. Hey, if you're playing with Dee Dee Bridgewater, you're getting recognition - okay? Here's the reason why Michael is visiting: he has a group, Sine Qua Non (we'll ask questions :) Comprised of some of the most brilliant musical minds heard anywhere, this is (Michael's words), "Classical theory and fused with rhythms from around the world." As we say on Facebook: OMG - at three!
A focus on the building community is more popular today within organizations than ever before—mainly because community creates satisfaction and a sense of feeling at home. While most research focuses on the economic benefits of building community within the organizational and leadership fields, using a sociological lens brings forth the extensive knowledge learned about how community functions—more like a family. When a business focuses on building a sense of community, they are more likely to retain valuable employees. Research shows that a feeling of community builds satisfaction with where one is and attachment to that place where community exists. Join me and my guest, Kirk Young, as we discuss how servant leadership helps organizations build community.

BEWITCHING TOURS March 4 - April 1st
BLAKELY BENNETT Blakley grew up in Southeast Florida and has been residing in the great Northwest for over seven years. She graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a degree in psychology, which accounts for her particular interest in crafting the personalities, struggles, and motivations of her characters. She is an avid reader of many genres of fiction, but especially erotica and romance. Writing has always been her bliss.
She is attracted to stories of self-struggle and ultimate recovery. Blakely is married to a wonderful, loving and supportive husband, also a writer, who helps to keep her grounded. She is a mother, a communitarian, a lover of music (always on while she is writing—thank you, Pandora), and a good friend.
An advocate of love and female empowerment, she is a facilitator for a women’s group. She loves to walk and hike for exercise and finds that, since moving to Seattle, WA, she is now one of those “crazy” people who walk in the rain. You can find Blakely on the Web at:
