Join Sam Coffman this week as he walks through the concept of building a first aid kit using primarily herbal medicine. This could be a kit for home, neighborhood, the car or the backpack. Sam will discuss the basic necessities of a trauma sub-kit for fundamental first aid, and then move into plant-based medicine for everything from wound-healing to viral infections, bacterial infections, acute illness, chronic illness and more.
What should an herbal first aid kit contain? What are the top 5, 10, 15 herbs or herbal formulas that you would want to put into your own kit? Do you have specific family illnesses or health concerns that would determine what some of those herbal medicines should be? In this podcast he will also discuss why he has chosen and prepared the specific formulas and herbs used in this kit, and how you can either make your own, or make a variation of his kit, or simply purchase his kit and then use it as a springboard into health care preparedness on all levels for yourself and loved ones. (Herbal Medics) currently sells a baseline trauma and herbal first aid kit that can be purchased HERE!

In a recent, viral video, M.D., Oliver Sacks, brough simple ipods with headphones into nursing homes to see how music would impact residents when they heard music from their era. The results were astounding. Not only were they moved, they also showed increased alertness and cognitive function. The results were remarkable.
On today's show, we'll explore some similar themes from two musicians.
In the first hour. I'll be jlined by Johnny Harper. Johnny’s songwriting clearly reflects his deep roots in American folk traditions, and also draws on the socially and spiritually conscious folk-rock songwriting tradition of artists such as Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Curtis Mayfield, and Bruce Springsteen.
His latest project is a tribute to The Band and their music. He'll be performing a series of shows in the Bay Area, which will showcase their music in honor of the 45th aniversary of the famous, three-night-Winterland debut in 1969. We'll discuss why The Band is one of the most important groups in the American musical canon and how their sound connects us to the sounds of other times.
In hour number two, I'll be joined by my friend, Kit Walker. Kit is an accomplished keyboard player and producer as well as a pretty good, astrologer. Kit's latest record is "Out Of Time" with vocalist, Mariana Ingold, available on Bandcamp.
Kit will no doubt add a great deal to the conversation. Please join us.

For singer/songwriter/worship leader Anthony Evans, things were right with the world. Life was hectic, to be sure, but it was good. A decade in music meant his calendar was full with dates at churches, concerts, and major conferences. His passionate, versatile voice was sought after for recording work in multiple Christian music formats. His growing catalog of worship albums consistently pointed the church to a God worthy of praise. Yes, his world was busy, but good, before a series of events brought Evans a life-changing realization: his world had grown insular. Confined. Small.
The expansion of Anthony Evans’ world started when he appeared on Season 2 of the hit NBC singing competition show The Voice. Picked by Christina Aguilera to join her team, Evans’ run on the show was highlighted by a “battle round” performance that many still view as…
