The challenge facing all of us is to rise above the things that have kept us divided in the past, by focusing us on the agenda of creating a better future for our people to see how all of us, with all of our varied differences, can come together and direct our energy, not at each other, but at the condition of the reality of the suffering of our people, that we might use all of our skills, gifts and talents to create a better world for ourselves, our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. It is time for us to stop thinking, acting solely on behalf of our churches, mosques, synagogues organizations.

    in News

Tonight we welcome Cheryl Curtis a 911 activist and a radio talk show host. We will discuss the recent presentation by Richard Gage and the Architects and Engineers for 911 Truth. ae911truth.org. Also we will discuss the international interest in Richard's message , especially after the Paris 911 of 11/14/15. Was the Paris bombing a false flag operation, to make France take a greater military stance against ISIS, just as 911 enraged the U.S to war against AlQiada and the Taliban in Afghanistan?

  • Democracy's Education:Public Work Citizenship& Future of Colleges/Universities

    in Spirituality

Harry C. Boyte, delves into the idea that Americans feel powerless to address the mounting problems that face this country.  In an opening essay, Boyte advises educators to claim and use their sometimes unappreciated power in the face of these problems. He challenges them to lead a movement in the rethinking of education, the meaning of citizenship, the state of the working world in today’s society, and the challenge of addressing public issues. Boyte believes that education is “the anchoring institution of citizenship.” Education, according to Boyte, shapes public identities and career paths of students and influences the methods and structures of many professions.  Boyte coordinated an association, called the American Commonwealth Partnership, of several hundred colleges and universities to strengthen higher education as a public good. This book builds on the ideas practiced by the American Commonwealth Partnership.

In the book, Democracy’s Education presidents and public officials portray their roles as public philosophers and architects of wide ranging policy changes. There are accounts from students, faculty, and staff in which they discuss the changing curriculum, student life, and alumni relationships. All of these factors allow current students to create opportunities to develop public action and concern for a commonwealth which they are helping to generate. Students also narrate their findings and experiences of becoming controlling factors of change, and get into their plans for careers packed with public principles.

    Active Design & Private Exchanges

    in Business

It's the second-to-last episode of HealthCare Consumerism Radio for 2015, and hosts Andrew Dietz and Doug Field are live in the studio with special guests from Perkins + Will and Maestro Health.

The first guest will be Brenda Smith, an associate principal with Perkins + Will, an interdisciplinary, research-based architecture and design firm founded on the belief that design has the power to transform lives and enhance communities. In this segment, Brenda will join the hosts in a comprehensive discussion on Active Design. How your office environment is outfitted has a dramatic impact on the adoption of healthy, active choices by your workforce. Active Design is defined as the promotion of workforce wellness, physical activity and healthy food access through thoughtful office design.  Active Design is about getting your workforce in motion. Health-conscious business leaders are now asking their corporate interiors experts and architects to build opportunities into everyday workspaces that get employees out of their seats, into circulation and back in shape. If sitting is the new smoking, Active Design is the new reality of wellness in the workplace.

The second guest on the show will be Jeff Yaniga, the chief revenue officer at Maestro Health. Forty-one percent of people spend 15 minutes or less choosing their benefits plan, compared to 10 hours researching a new car, five hours planning a vacation or two hours shopping for a TV. The health care enrollment experience has come a long way in the past decade alone, but consumers are in need of a more personalized experience to support an informed decision and best-fit benefits choice based on their unique needs. Utilizing a private exchange to provide employee benefits, employers are able to better tailor their offerings to give their employees more choice, cost transparency and better education on how to utilize their selection.
