Even the strongest relationships are strained during the transition to parenthood. Lack of sleep, never-ending housework and new fiscal concerns can lead to profound stress and a decline in marital satisfaction – all of which affect baby’s care. Not surprisingly, 69% of new parents experience conflict, disappointment and hurt feelings. Couples can learn how to prepare for life with their new baby and how to be the best parenting team possible by finding new ways to strengthen their relationship, and foster their baby’s development during this challenging time.
In her English-speaking counseling practice in Milan, Italy, Karen Rigatti helps couples with relationship issues, parenting of a new baby and culture shock and other challenges faced by expats. As a certified professional counselor, she specializes in working with clients on stress management, anxiety, life transitions (marriage, divorce, new parenthood), work-related conflicts, couples therapy, and cross cultural issues. Her office is centrally located in the Bocconi University area, overlooking Parco Ravizza.
Karen has made Milan her home since 2008. Originally from the US, she specializes in helping other English-speakers improve their quality of life through professional counseling.
Originally from Arlington, Virginia, Karen graduated with a degree in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She transferred to San Francisco and then London, before moving to Milan where she lives with her two daughters who were born here.
Karen is a member of both the American Counseling Association and AssoCounseling in Italy, holding a Master’s degree in Counseling from the Centro Berne in Milan.

They may be someone that you may have dated or went with or were married to that just don't wanna see you be happy. It could be someone who is currently dating someone else or is married to someone else but somehow has enough time to stalk you or mess up what you have going. They claim that they don't want you but they make sure that you don't get to be happy with anyone else. Why? They show up at places that you go. They make annoying phone calls. They harass people that are close to you and ask questions to people who know you as if they are really pursuing you. All the while they know that you two have nothing going on. Y'all might not even be speaking to each other. What's up with that?
Shalom Ladies, welcome back.
Tonight we are discussing the importance of physical health and exercise. We know that spiritual strength is important, but physical health is just as important. As servants of Yah we have to look at things from more than one perspective, otherwise we will be caught off guard. Physical Health and Exercise is not about skinny vs. fat, its about healthy hearts and endurance. As women, it is imperative we know how to defende ourselves. Join us at 347-633-9606
May 21, 2015: Spinal stenosis is a degenerative disease that causes a narrowing within vertebrae of the spinal column that results in pressure on the spinal cord. And while it may sound like a serious problem in need of an invasive medical procedure (such as surgery), a recently published study in the the Annals of Internal Medicine suggests that surgery should be considered only when other more conservative treatments, such as physical therapy, fail.
In this episode, we’ll talk to one of the authors of the study, physical therapist Anthony Delitto, PT, PhD, FAPTA, of the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, about treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis and what patients need to know about options to avoid going under the knife.
