Ep #106 - Rising Apple Report: Night Flight; Here Come The Champs

    in Sports

Welcome to the Night Flight from Phoenix...

The Mets are off today, flying home from Arizona where they gained a series split with the Diamondbacks.

On Tuesday, they begin a series against the defending world champions, San Francisco Giants.

For tonight's 106th episode of the Rising Apple Report, the Converted Met Fan Sam Maxwell and the Brooklyn Trolley Blogger Michael Lecolant will review the Arizona series that was, and preview the upcoming set against the incoming Giants.

They'll additionally analyze the Mets' standing as they enter their 2nd trimester of the season, as well as take a look back at the 2006 season, and players who've worn #6 in Mets history.

As an extra added feature the boys will take a retrospective look at the 1915 New York Giants baseball club, and the Giants  overall time spent in upper Manhattan.

Should be a lot if fun.

As always, you're more than welcome to join the conversation.  The number to call is 646-929-0337.  The show kicks off at 8:00pm ET sharp.

Rising Apple Report, Ep. 115 - Greg Prince Joins to Talk Still 1st Place Mets

    in Sports

The Rising Apple Report turns 115 at 9pm ET, and though it was a rough weekend, we're still excited to be talking 1st place Mets! Rich Sparago will host, senior writer Mike Lecolant joins, with Faith and Fear in Flushing's Greg Prince as their guest.

The Mets got swept by the Pirates at Citi Field with two well-fought extra-inning games and a 3rd that fell apart after ANOTHER 45-minute rain delay. The Nats continue to implode, getting swept out in San Francisco pretty soundly, letting the Mets maintain their 4.5 game lead. Many questions linger as the Mets head for a 9-game road trip with the O's, the Rockies and the Phillies: What's up with Duda's bat? What's happened to Bobby Parnell? Does the bullpen need to add another arm? Can the offense become more consistent again?

And as always, we'll discuss the players to wear 15 in Mets history, as well as a history lession on the 1915 Federal League season.

So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!

The Global Leadership Summit 2015 Highlights on "ME, GOD and A CUP OF COFFEE"

    in Women

The Global Leadership Summit 2015 highlights. Join me, Randy Miller and, a few others as we share some of the moments that impacted us. It’s said that no matter where you lead, The Global Leadership Summit is a world-class experience designed to help you get better and embrace your grander vision. The 2 day Leadership summit consisted of approximately 260,000 leaders. For two (2) days we were presented with opportunities to sharpen our skills and to influence people we lead. Based on surveys from previous attendees the outcome for every leader in attendance would be one of four (4) things if not all, Significance, Teamwork, Better Leaders and Effective. I have to admit, I was impacted in all four (4) areas. Bill Hybels, founder and Senior Pastor of Willow Creek Community Church, says he founded The Global Leadership Summit with a commitment to develop and mentor leaders worldwide. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS SHOW.  The events of the last 2 days have impacted my life significantly. Hopefully, some of the information we share will impact yours. #GLS15

Epidode 91 - The Rising Apple Report: A Winter of Dissatisfaction?

    in Sports

The Mets hot stove is failing to generate sufficient heat.  That's the sentiment among a growing number of fans.

While the N.L. East has worked itself into a trading frenzy this winter, the Mets lone off-season acquisition remains outfielder Michael Cuddyer.

With a shortstop situation screaming for resolution, and a need for a lefty in the bullpen, Mets boosters are growing increasingly perturbed with the lack of front office activity.

Clearly then, ownership's financial straits continue to hamper team operations.  Ticket prices are rumored to be going up this coming season, yet, there's been no uptick in payroll.

How is it possible then, Fred Wilpon was named to head Major League Baseball's finance committee?

Tonight, the 91st episode of the Rising Apple Report will try and make sense of it all.  Rich Sparago will host what is sure to be a spirited roundtable discussion, and will be joined by fellow Rising Apple staff writers Michael Lecolant and Kevin Baez.

Joining the crew to share his insights will be special guest, John Coppinger, from MetstradamusBlog.com.

Tonight's opening pitch is at 9:00pm (EST) sharp.

Of course, we'd love to have you call in as well.  Please do, at 646-929-0337.
