Welcome to TCE Radio ~ Antonio Vaughan, Wide Receiver and NFL Draft Prospect
Antonio is currently a Senior at Old Dominion University, named the 2014 Conference USA All Conference First Team as a wide receiver as well as holding multiple records. He finished his collegiate career with 33 receiving touchdowns, over 3,000 receiving yards and 4300 all-purpose yardage.
His high school athletic career consist of numerous MVP, All-Conference and All-State honors in football, basketball and track. In 2009-10 Antonio was crowned the Reggie Wiggins Male Athlete of The Year and the All-Roanoke-Chowan Player of the Year. In that same year, he was selected to, and played in the 2009 Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, an All-Star game that pits the best senior players from North Carolina and South Carolina against each other.
On February 4, 2006, just over 9 years ago, Antonio’s older brother Tommy lost his life in a car accident... the two brothers were incredibly close and virtually inseparable. Their bond was strengthened by their love for sports, football in particular. Shaped by his relationship with Tommy, Antonio thereafter committed to honoring his late brother’s memory by doing something they both loved. Playing sports.
Every day, Antonio commits to doing whatever it takes to be great. For himself, and Tommy. “I feel like making it to the NFL is not only my dream, but my brother’s as well. If I make it, we make it. This is our dream,” Vaughan said.
The NFL Draft pick will be at the end of April 2015. Watch out for Antonio Vaughan.

*The F-word is “fascism”. It’s tenets include supremacy of the military, the need for perpetual war and a disdain for pacifism, a merging of corporate and state power, dismantling the unions, indirect control of the media, national security and patriotism as a motivational tool for the masses, government corruption, candidates appointed by the party command, and an erosion of voter rights." Sound familiar? Media talks about capitalism, communism, socialism, libertarians, theocracies, and various systems in-between them. But the media never discusses fascism. Why? I first discuss the history of Fascism with one of the world’s leading experts on Fascism, Donald Sassoon – a professor of Comparative European History at Queen Mary, University of London. Then I am joined by two acclaimed talk show hosts, Egberto Willies of Politics Done Right and Bobby Rodrigo, of I Take LIBERTY With My Coffee as we dissect fascism tenet by tenet and examine them to see how they might apply to the United States. Please listen to this important conversation and judge for yourself. Could fascism occur in the U.S.? If so, what are you going to do about it? The Tim Danahey Show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners.
This week on #IntotheCosmos, hosts Ej Garr and Frank Dell'Apa review last weekend's 2 - 2 draw with Carolina, and get you prepared for the San Antonio Scorpions visit to Shuart Stadium on Saturday.
In review of the match at Carolina's Wakemed Park, the Cosmos earned a draw in stunning fashion, entering the 90th minute down 2 - 0, completing the comeback with a goal from Andres Flores with only seconds remaining in extra time. He also earned a spot on the NASL team of the week.
Flores is our guest this week on the show, as he discusses the goal to pull the match level, while giving us some insight on his time with the El Salvador national team. Currently, he is the only Cosmos player who will be serving international duty over the summer, as World Cup qualification and Gold Cup competition are among the events taking place. He discusses the pre-season stop in his native El Salvador and the excitement for the upcoming trip to Cuba for the Cosmos.
We then prepare everyone for the match this weekend vs the San Antonio Scorpions, as the Cosmos enter the weekend up three points in the standings, with only three matches remaining in the spring campaign.
With UK super-middleweight James DeGale (20-1, 14KO’s) just days away from his first world title bid against the American Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16 KO’s) in Boston, Massachusetts on May 23rd,
"A title means everything. It completes you as a fighter. That's the top of the food chain in this sport, and that's the pedestal we're all trying to reach - world champion. Everybody wants to be a world champion. The greats had it and now we want it. It would mean more for my city, my family and my friends, and it's something I'll always be able to look back it. It would put me in the record books for life.
"Andre says the belt doesn't mean anything to him in the fight - well, the belt means everything to me and more. I am here to make history and it doesn't happen without that title.
"I could win on Saturday night and retire a happy man - that's how much I want to beat Andre Dirrell. But when I do win that title, I am going for the rest of the belts, creating a lasting legacy for my country, my fans and myself.
