Sharon McAllister, Executive Director of ArtFest Fort Myers (FL) joins Sara Shambarger, Director of Art Fairs, at the Krasl Art Center, including Krasl Art Fair on the Bluff in St. Joseph, MI, on this episode. Sharon and Sara have been in the art fair business for well over fifteen years, travel to visit other art fairs and have a wide perspective on creating a community-wide event that facilitates "buy-in" by the local population.

Today Art 4 All People will chat with Arts and Healing pioneer, author, and Muse, Mary Rockwood Lane about the importance of Art in all of our lives. As well as how she created a solid integrative arts and healing program within the Health Care System.
Mary Rockwood Lane is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida College of Nursing and Associate Faculty with the Watson Caring Science Institute, working in the field of creativity and spirituality in healing. She is the co-founder and director emeritus of Shands Arts in Medicine program. At a time when art was not integrated in health care, she became inspired by her own experience of healing herself with art. She co-founded the Shands Arts in Medicine program at the University of Florida, which incorporated art, music, poetry, theater, and dance into nursing care on 15 different hospital units. It became a nationally-recognized program which she developed and directed for over 15 years. Since moving on, she has worked tirelessly to promote this vision for a more creative and transformative nursing practice. She has disseminated her research in this field as the co-author of professional publications and several books, including Creative Healing, Spirit Body Healing and Path of the Feather. Her book Shaman Wisdom-Shaman Healing was a finalists in the health/healing category in the prestigious Nautilus Awards.

Our state of the week for July 30 is Ohio. Steve Curtis is the State Director for the Americans for Fair Taxation for the State of Ohio, and a strong advocate of tax reform on both the State and Federal level. As such, he is involved in organizing grassroots support for the passage of the Fair Tax legislation, and in conducting public education programs to increase public awareness of the advantages of the Fair Tax approach to taxation. In addition to his State duties, Mr. Curtis is a member of the Executive Committee of the National Board of Directors for AFFT.
Mr. Curtis has more than thirty years of experience in industry and manufacturing, and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, a Certified Safety Professional, and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager. He currently lives near Fairborn, Ohio with his wife, Ann. They have two children, one grandchild, and a couple of cats that think they are people.
