Many people do not realize the impact one single purchase of a knock-off tee shirt, DVD, handbag, bottle of perfume, etc. can make. The sales of these goods support organized crime and can finance the activities of the world’s most notorious terrorist groups. What may appear to be a good deal can also be hazardous to your health, exploit your identity and possibly jeopardize your life! In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Mr. Bruce M. Foucart, Director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center, Homeland Security Investigations, Immigration and Customs Enforcement about what many consumers need to know about what the real cost of buying counterfeit goods means to the economy, national security and to your health! Consumer Goods: Chipotle Faces Tough Task of Winning Back Diners and Investors; Luxury Retailers Sur
The CDC has cleared Chipotle just as it prepares to announce full-year 2015 results and new food safety initiatives at a company-wide meeting in Denver. Meanwhile, Coach and Michael Kors bucked the negative trends ailing much of the retail sector during the crucial holiday shopping season.
Thad Bell from TheBlueTestament is joined by Mike Kuhn of Downthebyline fame and Steve Brisendine, Sporting KC's beat writer for mlssoccer.com to discuss the latest moves by Sporting Kansas City.
A lot of fans are not happy with some rcent moves.
First up, Krisztián Németh and SKC seemed to have parted less than amicably. Was it money for Nemeth? Was it oil dollars for SKC? Time to train for the Euros? Not enough chicken paprikash?
The other big move sees homegrown defender Erik Palmer-Brown sent on loan to Porto FC in Portugal. Money, experince? Roster room?
Squeezed in between all the controversial player moves the first preseason scrimmage took place.

The Super Bowl invariably yields the biggest single day of gambling of the year. Last year’s game produced a record-setting $98 million in wagers, and experts expect this year’s Super Bowl XLVIII matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos to be even more lucrative for Nevada sports books.
With so much money on the line, gamblers tend to scrutinize the Super Bowl more than any other sporting event, wary of the possibility that the NFL, Vegas oddsmakers, or some other party might rig the outcome of the game to suit their own interests. Conspiracy theories began shortly after the game's creation--to this day, some fans and former players suggest that Joe Namath’s infamous Super Bowl III guarantee and the Jets’ subsequent victory over the heavily-favored Colts was rigged in order to drum up publicity ahead of the AFL-NFL merger.
We are going live Saturday the 6th at 11am Eastern for our Super Bowl preview show between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers! Tune in to hear our expert analysis and predictions for the big game!
The first hour of the show will be dedicated to the Super Bowl and then we will cover the other hot topics in the sporting world for the next half hour!
Make sure to tune, and who knows we might have some surprise callers!
With the approval of GMO Alfalfa, GMO Sugar Beets and GMO Corn, organic farmers are fighting harder than ever to protect their land and crops. Meanwhile, the agro-chemical companies are pleased that their profits are soaring. It is assumed that organic is in peril. Why is this devastating to organic farmers? One main reason is cross-fertilization. This is especially disastrous for organic farmers because once an organic field is contaminated, the organic farmer’s certification is at risk. The organic label prohibits the use of GMO crops. Losing organic certification would mean the farmer’s goods can no longer be sold for the premium price that helps cover the costs of growing organically. According to Farmaid.org, most genetically engineered crops hitting the market are developed by multinational companies such as Monsanto, Syngenta, Dupont and Dow Chemical to increase their sales and push their related pesticides. For example, Roundup Ready crops are engineered to withstand Monsanto’s toxic herbicide Roundup. With Roundup Ready alfalfa and sugar beets on the market, Monsanto can expect increased profits from its new seeds, as well as increased sales of Roundup herbicide to douse all those new seeds. This has also been a core issue for the beekeeping community which has expressed concern that the combination of GMO crops with the companion technology of neonicotinoids is devastating the rapidly declining bee population. It appears that the fate of organic farmers in the USA seems doomed but is it? In this encore segment of The Organic View, host, June Stoyer talks to organic farming advocate, Dr. Bob Quinn, President of Kamut® International. Today's show is sponsored by Eden Foods. The Hornets really know how to work the "Cable Box." They put on another show in front of their fans and after what seemed like an endless drought against Lebron James led teams, got a signature win in the face of a tough home stretch. Amazingly they did all of this without their captain, Kemba Walker.
We're recapping the game and the three signature performances from Jeremy Lin, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and rookie Frank Kaminsky.
Hive Talk Live
An update on Kemba Walker's knee injury and status for the rest of the week.
We talk with Adi Joseph, NBA Editor for Sporting News, who's article on Frank Kaminsky is opening a lot of eyes to the quiet brilliance of the Hornets' rookie.
We discuss the At The Hive roundtable question this week, "Which Hornets would you put in the All-Star Weekend events?
A preview of Friday's game against Lebron James' former team, the Miami Heat.
Cam Newton has made headlines around the country leading his Carolina Panthers to Super Bowl 50. It’s almost show time so we’re going to talk some X’s and O’s. Of course we’ll also talk a little off the field action too, but what will it take to win Super Bowl 50? Can Denver’s defense shut down or at least contain Carolina’s offense? Which quarterback will shine on Super Sunday? Newton or Peyton Manning? What about that Panther defense? We’ll break all down on this week’s show. David Steele, the NFL Writer for the Sporting News joins us live!
National Signing Day is February 3rd. Who will the big winners be on the recruiting scene? TSU Head Coach Michael Haywood will talk about it on Chalk Talk. And of course it is basketball season and we’re nearing the trade deadline. What should we be on the lookout for and is anyone poised to make a big move?
Speaking of basketball, what’s happening around the NCAA? The Final Four is in Houston in April. Any chance a Texas team will be in the house? All of this and more on this week’s show.
