    Preparing for "back to school" isn't just limited to children in grade school. Many parents are dealing with the emotional roller coaster of their children leaving for college and no longer leaving at home every day. 

    Empty nest syndrome is a feeling of loneliness or depression that occurs among parents after children grow up and leave home. When a child leaves for college, the military, or just to live on his/her own, it's often difficult for a parent.

    There are several stages of empty nest syndrome and not everyone is affected, but many are. Let's take look at the stages and see if you have any symptoms.
