WHO AND WHAT IS AN ANCESTOR

    in Culture

Tonight, we are discussing "Who and What is an Ancestor"?  It is very important that we review this topic because we all have them.  Their DNA flows through our viens everyday of each of our life.  Without them, there would be no us.  Depending on the culture, the defition of Ancestor has many meanings.  In some cultures you cannot be considered Ancestors if you are women.  In every culture throughout the world there is Ancestral/Egungun Veneration in some formor another.  This is just not a tradition among Afikoid people, but is worldwide.  Ancestors constitute our family lineage, which gives us a sense of belonging; being a part of if you will.  Please, call # 347 308 832 at 9 p.m. and join the discussion.  We will be glad to have get involved.  Ase o.

    Candelo's Corner: Special 11-10-14 Rebroadcast

    in Spirituality

Appropriation, Racism and Misnomers, OH MY!
-- Racism in the ATR/DTRs: The 800 lb. Gorilla in the Room!

We're presenting our most popular show in archive again for your edification and reflective thought. Please tune in and listen to Candelo Kimbisa, Ancestor Healing and Malik Kimbiza and hear them get to the root of the problem and ask the essential questions facing us all in these changing, charged times!

Has the recent explosive growth and interest in the ATRs/DTRs flooded religions like Palo, Vodou, Santeria, etc. with people who have hidden agendas and/or deep-seated biases? Does subconscious hatred and/or racism toward children of the Diaspora, while worshiping and petitioning the very same ancestors and Spirits that gave birth to these descendants play a part in the corruption of ATR/DTR religions? What roles do greed and lust for power play in the acceptance of new initiates or prospective godchildren?

Grab a seat ladies and gentlemen because that rebroadcast from November 10th was a roller-coaster, and needs to be heard again! Join the Bad Boys of Palo every Monday on Candelo's Corner at 5pm PT, 8pm ET, online, call in and listen by phone 646-478-5072, or 'Click-to-Talk' via a computer interface. Naomi Widowed (Ruth 1:1-8)

    in Christianity

    TEXTS

Now it came about in the days when the judges governed, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem in Judah went to sojourn in the land of Moab with his wife and his two sons. The name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife, Naomi; and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehem in Judah. Now they entered the land of Moab and remained there. Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left with her two sons.

They took for themselves Moabite women as wives; the name of the one was Orpah and the name of the other Ruth. And they lived there about ten years. Then both Mahlon and Chilion also died, and the woman was bereft of her two children and her husband. Then she arose with her daughters-in-law that she might return from the land of Moab, for she had heard in the land of Moab that the Lord had visited His people in giving them food. So she departed from the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her; and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah. And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each of you to her mother’s house. May the Lord deal kindly with you as you have dealt with the dead and with me.

    THEMES

Ruth was a young Moabite widow, who, because of her selfless devotion to her mother-in-law Naomi, and to Naomi’s God, gained a husband and a child, a place in Jewish history and became the great-grandmother of David and an ancestor of Jesus Christ. Ruth faces the problems of widowhood.

Ruth commits herself to Naomi. Boaz allows Ruth to glean in his fields.

Ruth asks Boaz to be her kinsman-redeemer. The kinsman-redeemer was the closest male relative who had responsibility to marry a widow within the family and thereby protect the interests of needy members of the extended family. Boaz negotiates with a nearer relative of Ruth’s. Boaz marries Ruth...

Chief Langley - Metaphysical Approach to Removing Genealogical Brick Walls

    in Education

Ancestoral Roadbocks and Brickwalls,  Things you refuse to think about.  Renewing your research. Opening the backdoor. What was I thinking?  The simple things we ignore.  Why did i do that?   Right before your eyes.  In the mist of a genealogical blessing.  The ancestor I never knew.  Beware of the signs.   Will I see moma again?  Leaning on faith?  Your ancestral belief system.  I dont know where to turn.  What can i do?   Stuck in a nutt.   In the middle of the road.   I cant turn back now.   I am almost there. This is it.  O my I knew i should hav tried that.   The search is over and on to the next.  One ancestor at a time.  Knowning who you are.

  • The Joshua Generation Network: Genesis

    in The Bible

In this first of a series of "walks" through the Bible, we take the time to break down the Douay-Rheims version, hand over first. On last week's show, we laid out the ROE (rules of engagement) for participants:

    1) No religion, including Christianity, is 100% valid. All fronts have a little truth mixed in with a lot of lies. We will proceed on the presumption that anything that is man-handled is fallible.

    2) We make no presumptions as to the validity of heaven or hell, or the literal interpretation of any Bible story -- only of the things in the Bible that we can prove as scientific and historical fact. All allegories have truth at the heart of them and that is what we attempt to explore. If Christ said there is a heaven/hell, we take Him at His Word, sight unseen.

    3) We make no stances as to any version of the "Bible" being the infallible indisputable Word of God. It is a series of letters/epistle, reports, notes and compiled communications. #thatisall

    4) The Bible refers to whites only when it speaks of the mix-raced Greeks who came from Patmos, the Jerusalem of the Aegean, and to Rome. Everyone who is not of this ancestry is a Gentile, including the African people who sold our Mesopotamian/Persian and Mediterranean ancestors off to the highest bidder.

    5) We are the remnant of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, we are not "Jews." We are the original remnant of the Hebrew people belonging to our ancestor Abraham. We exist temporarily in [Rome].

    6) White supremacy is only given for a season. Their time remaining is short. 1 Peter 5:8 and Revelation 12:12

    7) Man is incapable of self-governance. If he cannot reign in righteousness with the world as given, he cannot go into other nether-realms without disastrous results. All scripture is evidenced by history, politics and science.

Great Expectations on the Corner! Candelo's Corner on LMC Radio Network

    in Spirituality

It was a dark and stormy night, and the grand McWizard stood in front of his glitter filled nganga baffled by the scent of burning cloth.  He looked down and realized his robes were on fire!  Confused, he consulted his Palo for Dummies handbook to look for signs about his burnt robes....

Tonight on Candelo's Corner with Candelo Kimbisa and Robert Lucas,Malik Kimbisa our favorite Bad Boys of Palo will be discussing the expectations that new initiates and followers of various ATR/DTRs have when first encountering the religion that they have chosen.  Is it logical to expect that a newbie will be all powerful and knowing after a few months of exposure to any ATR/DTR whether it be from hands on experience and/or through books, the internet?  Do basic rituals, book study and bravado give one license to claim a spot amongst the elders in a tradition?  We'll be discussing these questions and more, tonight on Candelo's Corner on LMC Radio Network.
