Episode 3: Going Viral with Danny A. Abeckaser "A Stand Up Guy"

    in Pop Culture

Alycia Kaback and Finding Fame Radio talk to Danny A. Abeckaser, ("Danny A") is an Israeli born and Brooklyn raised actor, writer and producer, who made a successful transition from a thriving career to follow his dreams. Selective when it comes to the projects he works on, Abeckaser's first foray into cinema was 2010's Holy Rollers. Directed by Kevin Achs, Danny stars alongside Jesse Eisenberg and Justin Bartha in a story about a young man from an Orthodox Jewish community who is lured into becoming an Ecstasy dealer by a friend linked to an Israeli drug cartel. Following the film's success, Danny went on to land one of his better known roles as Dino Lapron in The Iceman, appearing alongside Ray Liotta, Winona Ryder, Chris Evans, and James Franco as "The Iceman's" best friend. To date, he regards the part as one of his favorite and most challenging roles. With two successful films under his belt, Danny was able to fulfill a life-long dream when he was given the opportunity to work with the legendary Martin Scorsese on The Wolf of Wall Street.Abeckaser continued the momentum and soon after finished a longtime project writing and co-producing the film Club Life, which was loosely based on his life as a New York nightclub power player. In Club Life, Danny plays Mark, a nightlife promoter who offers Johnny (Jerry Ferrara) a chance at success. On February 9th, 2016, Abeckaser will step into the spotlight for his first leading role as the star in the upcoming release of "A Stand Up Guy", a meta-comedy about comedy that tells the story of a low-level mobster who disappears into the Witness Protection Program, only to become an Internet celebrity when his open-mic set goes viral. Apart from acting, Abeckaser runs 2B Productions, which has produced six films. Interviewing The Divas Welcomes Merinda Reid

    in Women

Join Diva Candace Gish, founder of "Interviewing The Divas", each week as she speaks with other entrepreneurial women. Women who have chosen to be a Woman of Business, all while managing households, families and community.

My journey into alternative therapy began at age 19 with the purchase of a book about the wonders of vitamin E. My mother had always been very health conscious and raised me to value my health, and this book on vitamin E opened my eyes to a new way of taking care of myself.

Over the years I turned to alternative therapies and natural remedies to preserve the health of myself and my loved ones. As I was approaching 50 I decided it was time for a change in my career. I wanted to quit earning my living with my back and begin using the knowledge I had gained over the years to serve others. I had been feeling a bit run down so I met with a Live Blood Analyst to have my blood analyzed. This appointment was another turning point in my life. Not only did the Live Blood Analyst find the cause of why I hadn't been feeling well and provided me with the appropriate treatment, I left that appointment knowing what it was that I was wanted to do during the next phase of my life. In 2002 I completed the blood analysis training. I combined this new skill with the knowledge I had acquired through courses in nutrition, as well as herbal and Traditional Chinese Medicine and started my own business. Having a broad knowledge base is very useful, and I'm able to draw on this in various ways when working with clients, for example, Chinese Constitution therapy is very helpful to find the heart of problems. In 2012 I became a Reiki Master which provides another method for me to help individuals with their healing.
