Automotive Journalist ALAN GELL interviews FRANK DAVIS immediately following the unveiling and "reveal" of the new all-aluminum Ford F-150. The excitement was electric and everyone was almost speechless. The interview and Ford event took place at Gilley's in Dallas on January 13th. Another unveiling took place the same time at the Detroit Auto Show.
Author Robyn Webb joins host Robin Milling to discuss her E-book 'The Paris Vacation Apartment Guide.' Inspired by her love of Paris and desire to live amongst the locals, Robyn crafted this how-to guide with detailed instructions on how to find the perfect Parisian apartment for your next visit to the city of lights.
Robyn, who grew up in the hotel business as her parents worked for the famed Concord hotel was like Eloise of the Borscht Belt. A foodie, nutritionist and cookbook author, she changed to apartment renting in Paris for the excitement of cooking her own meals; even buying aluminum foil. She talks about some of the challenges she experienced the first time renting like getting the key into the front door! However she assures that rental agencies provide on-sight assistance when emergencies arise. Private listing services like Air B 'n' B come with a renter beware warning, as Robyn discusses the potential nightmare of being homeless on the streets of Paris when dealing with an owner.
If you've never been to Paris and don't speak a word of French, don't fret as Robyn takes you through the process step by step so that you feel comfortable in your new surroundings without getting scammed!
You can find Robyn's E-book at Amazon

WHAT’S ALS THE FUSS ABOUT? THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE SCAM
Its ALL in the words!! ALS (the new exciting and memorable name for Lou Gehrig's Disease) stands for
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis…WOW, that sounds serious. But what does it mean? If we know what things mean the fear begins to diminish.
* Amyotrophic = NO MUSCLE NOURISHMENT, Lateral = MEANS ITS POSITION (OUTSIDE, AWAY FROM MIDDLE), Sclerosis = SCARRING &/OR HARDENING.
In actual fact it is the motor neurons that begin to degenerate, they can no longer send impulses to the muscle fibers that normally result in muscle movement. Early symptoms of ALS often include increasing muscle weakness, especially involving the arms and legs, speech, swallowing or breathing. When muscles no longer receive the messages from the motor neurons that they require to function, the muscles begin to atrophy (become smaller). Limbs begin to look "thinner" as muscle tissue atrophies.
This is obviously very distressing for the one suffering and their loved ones but the question should not be do I or don’t I pour a bucket of ice cold water over my head and donate some money to BIG PHARMA, but it should be why are my neurons hardening, becoming starved to death and hardening (calcifying)?
Here are some other questions that should be asked”
“how much of every $ donated goes to the alleged research”?
“do you test on animals (pc code for absolute cruelty)?
“Will this alleged research (my god they’re for ever researching aren’t they) develop a cure or a treatment?
“is it possible heavy metals such as mercury & aluminum could actually be a major cause of this condition”?
“What about lack of saturated fats”?
…and on we can go..and will.
Everyone is familiar with “reuse, renew and recycle” or some variation thereof. Be that as it may, we are still constantly manufacturing gadgets that use rare earth elements and other products which require aluminum. Recycling seems to be the best solution to cut down cost and environmental impact. It takes twice the amount of time, energy and money to mine new materials than to recycle the old. However, we aren’t cutting back and have a long way to go before we can become truly sustainable. Is this because the demand is too high and we have an abundant supply? What can be done to conserve the resources we have from a global perspective? In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to Dr. Subodh Das about the global aluminum industry and rare earth elements. Dr. Das is well recognized and respected expert and consultant to the global aluminum industry specializing in the areas of industry trends, technology, recycling, manufacturing, carbon management and new product & process developments. Dr. Das is the CEO of Phinix, LLC, Fluid Management Systems, Inc. and Underground Recovery, LLC . Dr. Das has over 35 yrs of global aluminum experience in manufacturing and tech areas covering wide disciplines including executive, project, operational, financial and technical management as well as being an accomplished scientist, engineer and inventor. Subodh has served on the boards of The Aluminum Association, Secat and the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society . The American Society of Metals elected him as ASM Fellow in 2002. The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society also awarded Subodh its prestigious Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Das (with John Green) also received the best paper award from the Journal of Metals for his paper titled “Aluminum Industry and Climate Change-Assessment and Responses “.
My guest this Thursday, July 26th at 3 p.m. PDT on MetalSmith BenchTalk is David LaPlantz (aka D. D. Deco), an active, producing jeweler and metalsmith. He flirts back and forth between jewelry and social commentary sculpture.
About: David LaPlantz is included in Who’s Who in American Art and Who’s Who in the West and was named Humboldt State University’s “Outstanding Professor” in 1981. He received a Fulbright Grant in 1985 to travel throughout New Zealand to conduct master jewelry workshops, and received the Humboldt State University “Scholar of the Year” Award in 1994.
From 1967 through 2002, LaPlantz led an energetic dual life as both a full time jewelry and metalsmithing teacher and full time studio artist. Balancing his precious time between the two, he carved out a career comprised of imparting knowledge and creating art jewelry and sculpture, while trying to retain his sanity. LaPlantz is currently a full time studio artist living on the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
LaPlantz has always been an active, productive jeweler and metalsmith. His most recent jewelry involves the use of Vegetable Ivory (tagua nut) and /or industrially painted aluminum, which he engraves, stacks and cold connects together. LaPlantz’s sculptural pieces visually explore more political and philosophical topics such as blacklisting in the entertainment industry, payola scandals in the music industry and in radio, along with the “spoken word” as demonstrated in his ‘Art Microphones.’
