Keys Held by the Seventy and the Testimony of Eusebius Concerning Them

    in Religion

Possibly the greatest revelation I received was that as a Seventy, I possessed all the keys ever delivered to the sons of Adam by ordination and by right.  After the officers of the Church threatened to attack and one did attack to shed my blood after giving to them The Revelations of Jesus Christ, the first two of which I had just received and written per commandment of the Lord God of Israel, I got myself down on my knees and asked what authority I possessed (since it was not taught in the Church, but that one must blindly follow those appointed who held sole authority as High Priests), and I was wafted by the spirit over to my bookshelf to open The Discourses of Brigham Young compiled by John Widtsoe, and opened the thick book miraculously to the very paragraph and the following flashed out at me as if lit by a neon sign, a rushing in my ears as I read the following:

‘‘The Seventies are Apostles; and they stand next in authority to the Twelve...If through the providence of God the First Presidency and the Twelve were taken away, then it would be the duty of the Seventies to preach the Gospel, build up the Church , and ordain every officer requisite in order to establish the Church, and ordain every officer requisite in order to establish the Church, and ordain High Priests, Bishops, High Counsellors, Patriarchs, and set in order the whole church in all the world. This is according to the revelations given to us...I suppose I ordained hundreds of Seventies in early days. Brother Joseph Smith has come to us many times, saying, ‘Brethren, you are going to ordain Seventies. Do not forget to confer the high priesthood (Melchizedec priesthood) upon them. Ordain each of them to the High Priesthood, and to be one of the Seventy Apostles.’ This was my language in the ordination of the Seventies, and that is the way i ordain them now. Brigham Young, Des. News, June 6, 1877, p. 274.

This Week's Creative Coupling Energies Spark Volatile Changes

    in Spirituality

This week's lesson is in the art of discrimination.

Have an open mind when this new and very tempting situation presents itself, but only go midway to meet it.  Look and listen, and the truth will be revealed well before you become completely engaged and are involved in a downward spiral of negative energy. Be on notice to protect yourself and honor your sacred space.  Find stillness in the potential chaos. It is here you will find the truth that will serve you.

    In all things there is
    Dark and there is light,
    Yin and yang.
    Do not be seduced by
    Flattery or riches.

In your situation, attempting to be in control is folly. You cannot control what the heavens bring your way. Simply let this yin energy flow through you. Do not retreat, even if you feel afraid. Use your fear as fuel to look deeply into the situation and it will bring clarity and light into what was previously held in darkness. Above all, do not turn your back on this force. Bravely take the risk to face your fears, and the darkness will become light. Your weaknesses will become your strength, and your tears will give way to joy. Grieve for what or whom you must let go of and make your move into with the lightness achieved as you move to satisfaction and completion.

    Remembering Carnival Traditions, Part II

    in Culture

The first carnival was staged in 1912 during the final years of Danish occupation and lapsed during World War I. Revived in 1952, carnival has become the second largest festival in the Caribbean.

A month-long series of dazzling pageants and talent shows is held to choose royalty to rein over the festival. Fun events such as a boat race, Greased Pig Contest and Toddlers Derby entertain everyone at the festivities.

A series of elimination contests to crown top performers are called Calypso Tents. Calypsonions offer satirical commentary on the state of the islands, oftentimes mocking the shenanigans of politicians. Other popular events held during Carnival is j'ouvert, a morning jump up, a food fair presenting the islands’ best traditional eats and a competition to crown the King and Queen of the parade troupes.

A children's and adult’s parade close the lively month with brilliantly costumed and decorated troupes and floats.

SOAD Radio Show with Special Guest Walt Realer

    in Entrepreneur

    Walt Realer Story

I graduated from Academy Park HS in Sharon Hill. I attended Virginia Stat Univ and Delaware County Community College. I held a number of jobs working for the post office, ups, iron mountain before getting a job with General Electric back in 1992. I worked there for almost 11 years before the plant was closed. During that time in 1996 my mother started the cleaning service. I worked for the company part time just to help out and make a few extra bucks. When my plant closed in August of 2002 I went home and talked to my wife about layoffs and working for someone else. I told her I was thinking of working the business full time. She said she had my back. I spoke to my mother and took on the day to day responsibilities of working the business. I've had a number of clients over years. Iron Mountain being the first. Then came First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill. Neighbor to Neighbor also in Sharon Hill. Both of which are still clients today. St Paul's Baptist Church, Edward Jones in Springfield. I ran successful campaigns with living social and groupon. Done a lot of residential and commercial work as well. Our services range from carpet cleaning, general cleaning, janitorial service, wood floor restoration, stripping and waxing of tile floors and power washing. We've also done some auto detailing and snow removal from time to time. I was a member of the rotary club of eastwick pa. I coached little league football for the Christopher Arnold Athletic Association

HOW TO GET READY FOR SEPTEMBER 2015! HOW TO BUILD YOUR ARK

    in Religion

    NEW 7 HOUR AUDIO SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOW TO BUILD YOUR SPIRITUAL ARK

Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,"See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. "I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship. Exodus 31:1-3

Btsal'el's (Bezaleel's) name signifies "In the Shadow i.e. "protection" of God. " He was the son of Uri meaning: the Light of God, light, illumination, enlightenment, "My light, my fire." The "Urim" of the high priests’ breastplate is the same term, but plural in number.

The son of Hur (Hebrew=Chur, one of Moses trusted companions, who held up the arms of Moses at the battle with the Amalekites. (Exodus 17:10-13) Bezaleel was a man called by God, to make the ark of the covenant. In fact "God called Bezaleel specifically by name," when giving Moses the instructions for the Tabernacle. In Exodus 25:8-9, God instructed Moses to build a tabernacle so that God could dwell with His people as it is written:
