Haha (Well, the real answer is: You would be surprised! I have some stories for you! But that's a whole different kind of reality TV show, for another time.)
Tonight my guest is a dear ally in motherhood, greener living, & better living though education & community. Alisa Donner joins me to explain what Pregnancy Awareness Month is & how she, along with her partner Anna Getty, have grown this thriving organization from the ground up.

Dogs on Deployment was founded by husband and wife, Shawn and Alisa Johnson, who serve in the US Navy and US Marine Corps respectively. They started Dogs on Deployment in June 2011. As a dual-military family, the founders have been in situations where they needed a program like Dogs on Deployment. Alisa had orders to move to Quantico, Virginia where she was to attend six months of military training. At the same time, Shawn, was to be deployed. Neither could care for their beloved dog, JD. They were lucky enough to have family to rely on, but recognized the need for a program which would help others who found themselves in a similar situation. Thus, Dogs on Deployment was born.
Founders Alisa and Shawn Johnson proudly own two miniature Australian Shepherds, JD and Jersey, and a Caique parrot, Kiki, who are the inspiration behind their work. They are also active fosters for Dogs on Deployment and local rescue groups.
***Alisa has also been nominated for 2013 Military Spouse of the Year!!***
I'm very proud & honored to bring you Alisa's story!!
We have all heard the stories of the Olympian who finally wins the gold, the football player who finally wins the ring, or the poor kid who finally becomes a millionaire. And we have heard the stories of how these people finally got what they wanted and still found themselves miserable. What is happening in these types of situation?
And what is happening in BDSM when a submissive begs and pleads for something, and finally gets it, then sabotages himself and his future with his new Domme? Submissives engage in this type of behavior on a regular basis. They invest significant amounts of money and time in the lifestyle, just to destroy all of that work. They walk away for a few days, weeks, or months. But, they go right back to the lifestyle. Usually, with a different Domme and some version of the truth that they have created for themselves that makes them feel good.
But, what is really happening is that the submissive is asking for something that he is not prepared for. And he receives something that he is not prepared for, then he does not know what to do with it.
Mistress Alisa addresses this issue in today's segment.
Time to revisit listening skills. In this segment, Alisa reviews some of the common red flags that people many times overlook when engaging in online dating. Basic conversational exchanges, in certain contexts can tell you a gret deal about a person's true agenda. Let's look at what these specific exchanges might reveal about the person asking them:
We'll see what happens.
Tell me about yourself.
