Oct. 26, 2015, 10pm (PDT) - Paranormal Etiquette with Aimee Neg

    in Paranormal

Over the last decade, there has been a real influx in the popularity of 'Paranormal'. You could say it went far beyond the T.V. show Unsolved Mysteries of the 80's and 90's. In reality, the idea of Paranormal took off earlier this decade when A&E had launched the subjects of ghosts and spirits into the main stream, with Paranormal State. Almost immediately ghost hunting was popular to the point where other networks like Discovery, SyFy and History jumped on board with shows like Ghost Adventures, Ghost Hunters International and more. Ratings were huge, because the viewer loves the unknown.

Almost immediately, with the popularity of social media, ghost hunting groups popped up all over North America. Everyone became an expert, whether it was on the scientific, spiritual or debunking side. As of now, there are over 36,000 paranormal groups on Google and social media like Facebook. Everyone of them an expert with differing opinions on how to find ghosts, spirits, poltergeists and demons.

And with so many people comes the different philosophy on how to ghost hunt. Are they there for the ghost? Are they there for the people who are affected? Or are they there for themselves, in trying to perfect their technique so maybe, just maybe, they get a shot at their own show as well?

Aimee Neg is a long time paranormal investigator. She's very concerned about the landscape of the Paranormal community, and would like to see some etiquette shown for those on this side as well as the other side. Tonight, she will discuss the do's and don'ts of ghost hunting.

The Women's Show with Your Host Elizabeth Black

    in Pop Culture

Today Th Women's Show host is Elizabeth Black. Her Guest today is Dellani Oakes

Dellani Oakes is a former A.P. English teacher and photo journalist. Now working as a substitute teacher and Mary Kay consultant, she can give skin care & makeup advice, correct grammar, take pictures and write an article while controlling a classroom full of rowdy children.

Dellani was making up stories before she could read. Her first really cohesive work began when her older sister started school. Left to entertain herself, she invented an imaginary friend and would regale her mother with tales of Snowy Green and Rainbow School. These stories paved the way for songs and poems in elementary school and short stories in high school and college.

A college theatre major, Dellani took play writing. It became her new love. Scripts being dialog heavy and character driven, this aspect has followed her into her novel writing. She uses verbal exchanges & sparring as a way of revealing both plot and characterization.

. Her first novel, "Indian Summer", was published in 2008 by Second Wind Publishing. Also from Second Wind, her second novel, "Lone Wolf" made its debut in September 2011. "Lone Wolf" is the first in her science-fiction series. Book two of the Lone Wolf Series - "Shakazhan", came out in July of 2013.

In addition to her books published by Second Wind Publishing, Dellani has two novels with Tirgearr Publishing: "The Ninja Tattoo" and "Under the Western Sky"

Dellani is also a Blog Talk Radio host with two shows each month: Dellani's Tea Time 4:00 PM Eastern every 2nd Monday & What's Write for Me at 4 PM Eastern every 4th Wednesday. Look for her on Red River Radio Network. (Guests vary)

The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW - Elizabeth Chryst

    in Politics Conservative

Conservative Review's Daniel Horowitz writes, "We can always count on Republicans to take a 90/10 winning national security issue and turn it into a shiny object.  Instead of listening to their constituents and following the calls of 30 governors to shut down Islamic refugee resettlement, Republicans are about to pull the classic bait and switch: pass a phony standalone bill and decline to defund it in the budget bill.

Much like the “Gang of 8”, the bill, sponsored by Rep. Richard Hudson (R-NC), calls for the administration to certify that any refugees brought here from Iraq and Syria are not terrorists. As long as Obama says they are not terrorists he can bring in as many as he wants. Updated language in the bill also requires the FBI Director to sign off on each individual refugee.  However, the bill fails to stop the program and focuses on the wrong issue while giving Obama much-needed cover for his egregious plan.  The House plans to vote on this bill Thursday and has no plans to defund the program.

Our Capitol Hill Insider Elizabeth Chryst sorts it out.
