Now there's shooting on the Capital, yet what did you think was going to happen?
Why the republican party and the tea party believes that they control this country and not the American tax payers and voters.
Who in the hell are these congressman and tea party afraid of......
What's going to happen to the millions of kids who no longer recieve free lunches and afterschool programs?
Our Youth are NOT Special! It's happening in our classrooms, and our afterschool sports programs, and even in the bathrooms in California...Social Equality means that all children will be treated equally, regardless of their race, religion of sexual preference.
It seems that the path to equality is not about lifting those up out of poverty, or feeding the hungry, or strengthening the week, or educating the ignorant.
The agenda is more about taking it away from everyone...liberty, healthy food, quality education, employment, and first place ribbons...all for the sake of equality.
It's no wonder so many of our youth are lost, and feel like second class citizens. They have no desire to achieve, and have little connection to anything worthwhile, so why bother?
Today we are going to explore the topic of afterschool activities and the prize culture. Have we gone too far with the afterschool activities? Have we gone too far with all of the awards our children are recieving. Did they actually earn that award? Did they really want that award. Do you feel as though every small accomplishment deserves a reward?

We will discuss the importance of understanding how personality and multiple intellegence impact a child's ability to reach thier fullest potiential. And, how this can help educators as well as homeschool parents.
Jon's passion for education grew during his time at Connecticut College where he worked with a kindergarten program for a course requirement. After becoming deeply interested in how children learn, he chose to major in Human Development and received a teaching certificate in elementary education. After he received the Louis Lacey McGarry Award for his work with children, he was motivated to work on a documentary of an afterschool program at a homeless shelter, and also pursue an independent study on bilingual education. To learn more about the great inequities in our education system, Jon pursued a master's degree in Urban Education Policy at Brown University. During his final months in the program, he found a significant disconnect between the goals of policy makers, the real effect those policies have had on schools and the services that various agencies are providing to support schools - in particular, the way schools and educators are dealing with the pressures of high stakes testing.Jon founded Nutmeg Education, LLC with the goal of helping teachers deal with these pressures in ways that can help student achievement, without using subversive teaching methods. By working closely with dozens of teachers, school leaders, students, and a team of sophisticated web developers, Jon hopes Nutmeg Education will do just that.
Parents, Students, Teachers and Educators. Why are kids failing in the public School System? High rate of drop-outs, Bad behaviors, Literacy, Math, English Scores all time low in K-6, Middle Schools, And High Schools. Students don't respect teachers anymore. Many students are given up, Teachers are failing to educate, love and they turn the other way.
Leadership in Schools from the School Districts, Principals on down who is at fault. The boys are sagging and bragging but not learning, girls are fighting and cursing and don't respect themselves or others.
Parents stand up you will be blamed, should be blamed for the behaviors of our children. Guns on school campuses, students failing to bring pencil, or paper in the classroom.
Yes our Educational System is failing, who is at fought. Toughcookie will have parents, students and a few educators on to discuss this very important subject/topic.
Students need Role Models in the classroom not from TV, not Entertainers, not Atheletes, Parents should be better Role models.Take time out with there kids k-12 and ask how was there school day, get them tutors, check homework, get them to bed ontime. Feed them breakfast, and come and sit in on classes instead of coming when your child get's in trouble. Kids need hope and dreams let them know yes they can.
Funding where is the $$$ going. Taking away Afterschool activites, sports, music, creative art programs and other extra-curricular activites from minority public schools but not from affluent schools. The circulation of funding, who gets it and Why?
There future is bright if they Focus, get them help, show love, be fair but firm Educators, not their friends. Teachers show respect to all cultures in the classroom, get teachers who look like the diverse student body on Public School Campuses and in the classrooms.
