FALLACY OF THE DAY -
Argument from Motives (also Questioning Motives). The fallacy of declaring a standpoint or argument invalid solely because of the evil, corrupt or questionable motives of the one making the claim. E.g., "Bin Laden wanted us out of Afghanistan, so we have to keep up the fight!" Even evil people with corrupt motives sometimes say the truth (and even those who have the highest motives are often wrong or mistaken). A variety of the Ad Hominem argument.
The counterpart of this is the fallacy of falsely justifying or excusing evil or vicious actions because of the perpetrator's purity of motives or lack of malice. (E.g., "He's a good Christian man; how could you accuse him of doing something like that?")

We spoke about the issue of Renisha McBride, in Detroit, who was shot and killed by Theodore Wafer.
She was only 19 years old.
Yesterday, the jury returned a verdict of “guilty”, of 2nd-Degree Murder/Voluntary Manslaughter and weapons charges.
Mr. Wafer’s defense, was that Miss McBride, who apparently was intoxicated and injured after a car crash, was banging at his door in such a manner, that he felt his life was in danger.
What does this guilty verdict mean?
Will this have any impact on one’s decision to legitimately defend him or herself?
Did race play a factor in the shooting?
Did gender play a role in the decision?
Barack Obama met with over 50 African leaders, promising increased investment in the continent. Why am I not getting a “warm & fuzzy”?
In the meantime, the “Islamist” group known as I.S.I.S, has been engaging on a rampage in Iraq, murdering scores of innocent people, and more recently killing Christians. The latest, what we hear, is that they kidnapped Christian women, and intend to sell them into slavery.
Barack Obama has sent humanitarian and military support to the region, but he swears, he will not be drawn into a full-scale war – oh yeah?

Global Peeks sits down with long-time human rights activist and organizer Ajamu Baraka to discuss his article “Iraq, Libya, Syria: Three reasons African Americans should oppose U.S. intervention in Africa” and other topics effecting the Global stage.
We want to explore US intentions behind its meddling and record of destruction on the Continent & worldwide.
We want to discuss President Barack Obama—the first Black President & son of a Kenyan father yet continuing a murky US foreign policy & counter progressive legacy in Africa.
“Africa, there is not one instance of the U.S. being on the side of African independence, not one. In fact, in every struggle on the part of Africans to free themselves from the oppressive yoke of European colonialism, the U.S. aligned with the colonial powers across the continent to undermine African independence. U.S. policy in Africa was consistently pro-white power…”
Mr. Baraka a long-time human rights activist and organizer is an editor and contributing columnist for Black Agenda Report. He is currently an Associate fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington D.C.
